Apparently when you become a surgeon 'doctor' is dropped and replaced with plain 'mister'.

I suppose it's one of those odd British things, like calling a judge Mr. Justice Smith? Or why their main front doors don't have doorknobs? Things that make you go hmmmm? 🤔
