Home and Away spoilers follow for Australian and UK viewers.

Home and Away star Lukas Radovich has spoken out over his character Ryder Jackson's latest trauma, as a prank staged by Ryder and his rival Theo Poulos threatens to go horribly wrong.

Ryder has clashed with newcomer Theo (Matt Evans) ever since Theo first arrived in the Bay, with the pair competing for the affections of Chloe Anderson (Sam Barrett). Their rivalry has led them to battle against each other in a series of online stunt competitions, and the soap's dramatic season finale trailer has teased that they might be about to take things too far.

The pair are seen heading into the wilderness together to embark on their "most epic challenge yet", which involves Ryder being sealed into a coffin and buried underground. But when Theo injures himself and is knocked unconscious, panicked Ryder becomes trapped in the coffin? with nobody else in sight.

Lukas has told Australia's The Daily Telegraph that filming the claustrophobic scenes was a memorable experience, explaining (via The Daily Mail): "I'm not going to say it was traumatic but I'm definitely not going to forget that day."

The actor added that he couldn't help but see the funny side of the terrifying situation, as Ryder appears to have a knack for getting trapped in tight spaces.

"I kind of started to freak out but it was also a bit funny because this is the third time Ryder has been in this sort of situation," he said.

"The first time he was trapped in a tunnel collapse, second he was kidnapped from his 21st and shoved in a car boot. Now there's this coffin, so there seems to be a trend."

But with no details of what happens to Ryder and Theo next, could Ryder be in danger of losing his life in the reckless stunt?

Lukas wouldn't give anything away, but he did say: "Hopefully... it's not the end for Ryder."

Ryder and Theo's predicament isn't the only big story that will move the soap forward into 2022. Chloe is facing her own troubles after the recent arrival of her biological father, Matthew (James Sweeny), with his appearance causing heartache for Chloe's mum, Mia Anderson (Anna Samson).

There's also drama on the way for Felicity Newman (Jacqui Purvis) and Tane Parata (Ethan Browne), as well as an ill Martha Stewart (Belinda Giblin).

Home and Away airs weekdays at 1.15pm on Channel 5 and 6pm on 5STAR (UK) and Mondays to Thursdays at 7pm on Channel 7 (Australia). Selected classic episodes are available via Amazon Prime Video in the UK.
