EastEnders' Kim Fox will face a heartbreaking time over the next few months after she goes into premature labour in an upcoming storyline.
The comedy character, played by Tameka Empson, arrived back in Walford over the Christmas period following a year break, and quickly shocked her sister Denise by revealing she is pregnant.
However, her pregnancy joy will take a turn for the worse when she gives birth to a little girl early, and faces an agonising wait to see whether or not the baby survives.
The Daily Star reports that Kim seeks support from her family as they rally around her during the difficult time.
The show's executive producer Dominic Treadwell-Collins previously teased an exciting storyline for the Fox and Trueman family.
He said: "Kim returns, which is wonderful. She returns with a secret. That's the start of a very, very big exciting story for the Truemans and the Foxes - Denise and Kim and some new faces!"
EastEnders continues tonight at 7.30pm and 8.30pm on BBC One.
