If Carla is supposed to be this great businesswoman why didn't she get another quote (or several) from a different builder? She just went for the quote that Gary gave her.
And what are they doing to Roy's character? He's become even grumpier and more eccentric than usual.

Has insurance not been heard of in Weatherfield, surely even if Peter did not have insurance the factory and David would have, but no mention of this. I doubt any insurance company would accept a single quote from Gary.
