Things aren't going to get any easier for Coronation Street's Sally Metcalfe in the New Year, as the arrival of a new cell mate leaves her more vulnerable than ever.
After her friend and ally Abi is released from prison in January, Sally finds herself alone and struggling to cope with increasing threats from drug dealer Marcia.
In dramatic scenes airing on Wednesday, January 9, Sally will be attacked by new cell mate Marcia, who is convinced Sally is the reason for a recent inspection by a prison officer.
Sally's husband Tim, who stunned fans (and his wife) with his recent cheating confession, is concerned after taking a call from the prison telling him Sally has been beaten up.
After speaking to his wrongly-convicted wife himself, Tim soon realises that Sally is reaching the end of her tether – can she take prison life for much longer?
