When Emmerdale's story team sat down and dreamt up an affair between Aaron Dingle and Robert Sugden, they probably could have never predicted the hysteria that followed. Within days of the characters' first snog being aired back in autumn 2014, 'Robron' was born. This came with an adoring army of loyal fans, who have to this day, remained committed to championing the award-winning partnership.

The lads are immortalised in artwork, have been the subject of hundreds of fan fiction stories, and you can even purchase cushions with their faces on. But life as a Robron fan has been hard going since Robert did the dirty on Aaron with Rebecca White, a move which angered many on social media, and forced Emmerdale big boss Iain MacLeod to speak out defending the unpopular plot.

With rumours of Robron kissing and making up in the not-too-distant future, peace should be fully restored in 2018.

Hi Paul thats like i keeping ED+IM are not siily+Stupid they know what a asset that Robron brings for Emmerdale with awards and they have wonderfull actors in Danny+Ryan and have a great working chemisty and like Danny said this electric Robron reunion will be well worth it the wait

Hi Don what did you think of my to your quote? like i said he`s only trying to do this just to pleaese chas+liv especilly Liv he supported her all the way when Aaron was away in jail and of his money doing up the Mill like i said when Alex finds out he still in love with Rob and then mybe thats when he tells him about the scars thinking yeah i will telL Alex and then they sleep togther how does that work out well it doesnt it will haunt poor Aaron like mad a be a mess well done ED+IM them saying ah well Rob sleeps with PD and oh lets get Aaron to do the same thing tit for tat yeah and mybe it could be that Alex could even call it a day and getting Alex to be part of the dingle at xmas after 3 dates it took Rob 2 years to part of it and even Rob drunk from the wellington could you Alex doing i dont so so come ED+IM JUST us a clue this xmas speciacl like a suprise hug or kiss yeah

Hi Matty - Aaron is definitely still in love with Robert but feels he has to move on and I think even though he tells Dr some of the bits about his scars and he takes their relationship to the next level I think he will have doubts as to wether it’s the right thing and he shouldn’t have. This being accepted by The Dingles so quickly is so OOC it took them ages to accept Belles Dr Bailey as a new partner but they had seen over a much longer period of time how much Robert had cared about Aaron. It is true that the Dr is boring and there isn’t a spark there and maybe for a short while Aaron may like the attention from someone else but you can see him wanting something more out of a relationship and knowing that Robert is the only one who can supply him with it. I do think that maybe more will happen in this Christmas episode to give us some signs of what will develop later that we might not expect and maybe there will be a teaser kiss and hug in there somewhere. Sorry for the long winded reply.

Well, DrPlot's acting in that hospital scene was typical of the usual short term extras they get on the show ....... I am afraid he is another PD without the range to deliver for an continuing drama.

Hi Paul very true come on ED+IM you know what great asset you have in our Roborn gives to Emmerdale and the what great actors we have in Danny+Ryan and they always exclie in there perfornace so come on and get Robron back together and keep them together without all this Drama and agnst which they carry with them all tiime yes it makes good tv but please give our Robron good times as well just cant wait for this electric Robron reunion to come it be well worth the wait and i think it could be around there first year of marriage in feb 2017 so mybe its in feb 2018 yeah or even better sooner but the true love will win through in the end and just like in maxines ep back in May they are rubbish without each other #teamRobron all the way

Agree with you. If it hadn’t been that he has a connection with main characters he could have appeared in that scene tonight and afterwards nobody would have remembered what he looked like or what he said - it could have been any extra used.

What amused me tonight was Vic defending Ross and I said to myself - hey, he tried to kill your brother - and then of course I remembered that wasn’t important enough an event for her to even know that happened.

I think Danny is very engaged with his followers in the role of Aaron and he will know that this particular phase of the story is not going to go down very well at all however, he is just one of the many actors in Emmerdale (popular I agree). I would not be surprised if Danny hasn't said to IM or whichever PTB they see regularly that he is sure this would go down like a cup of cold sick with the fanbase but he would have little influence apart from maybe how he acts it, he cannot change the story.

I think the actors may only see the script 2-3 months in advance (filming 4-6 weeks ahead) so he would know where this is leading at the beginning of November (unless even the actors have not been given scripts until the last minute), that being the case I still felt Danny was much happier when talking to the camera about the story than he was earlier this year when he and others seemed on edge and distracted. I hope his calmer mood is a sign of a short stay for DrPlot.

Danny does care about the Robron fans and this current storyline is probably not really what they wanted but as you say he is only one of many but you would think that his opinion would count for something as he is one of the characters that has helped ED to win more awards than they have done for some time. He does seem to be more optimistic and upbeat lately than in past months so let’s hope this means a move in a different and better direction.
