Interesting!! Turns out Todd's suspicions are wrong. Drew has cancer and has only a couple of months to live so he's come to Weatherfield to see if, not only he's daughter Summer fits in but also if Billy would say yes to being her guardian. Drew's partner left him high and dry so that means Summer would've to be put in care. Billy is Summer's Godfather so.. could Todd and Billy be TV's first ever gay parents?

Coronation Street's Billy Mayhew is devastated by the death of his ex-boyfriend Drew in these sombre new pictures.

Daniel Brocklebank, who plays Billy, has been pictured working out on location for sad scenes which see him attend Drew's funeral in a few weeks' time.

Viewers were only introduced to Drew late last month, when he visited the Street and told Billy that he was terminally ill.

It was Drew's dying wish that Billy would adopt his young daughter Summer, but the vicar's boyfriend Todd Grimshaw wasn't keen on the idea and stood in the way of the proposed solution.

These new paparazzi pictures show Todd (Bruno Langley) by Billy's side at the upcoming funeral, showing that the couple will remain strong and united in the weeks to come.

Of course, the big question now is whether Drew's death and funeral could spark any further discussions over Summer's future.

Is there a chance that Billy could convince Todd to give the idea more thought? Could Todd change his mind at the last minute? Or will the pair really have to ignore Drew's desperate dying request?

As Corrie usually films six to eight weeks in advance, fans can expect to see the funeral scenes sometime in June.
