Both Catherine Tyldesley and Shayne Ward sign new deals to stay on Coronation Street for another year ....

Coronation Street is the most-complained-about soap of the past year – with 1,204 complaints
Coronation Street may be gripping viewers most nights of the week, but it's also the most-complained-about soap.
Viewers sent complaints about Corrie to Ofcom more times in the 12-month period ending March 2017 than any of its rival soaps, including EastEnders, Emmerdale and Hollyoaks.
In total, the cobbles attracted 1,204 complaints (up from 154 during the previous year) – although this has been skewed slightly by the fact that a large percentage (around 40%) came from one single episode – 473 over Eva Price's racially-insensitive "more roots than Kunta Kinte" comment.
"I have more roots than Kunta Kinte," she said back in August 2016, venting her frustration about her hair at Audrey Roberts's salon. "No idea who that is, by the way, just something my mum used to say."
Despite the controversy, Ofcom did clear the comment, saying that it "reflected the foolishness, and lack of sensitivity and cultural awareness, of her character".
"For her to speak in this thoughtless fashion without understanding what she was referring to, or that it might cause offence, was likely to have been consistent with the audience's expectations of her character," the report added.
Meanwhile, Emmerdale had 789 complaints in the last year (up from 433) and EastEnders had 335 (down from 348).
Despite all the murdering and huge storylines going on in Hollyoaks, the Channel 4 soap only had 26 complaints (down from 41).
Coronation Street stars’ salaries ‘revealed’ with Kym Marsh netting £150k a year to play Michelle Connor and David Platt star Jack P. Shepherd on £200k
The salaries of some of Coronation Street’s biggest stars have been ‘revealed’.
Kym Marsh, who plays Michelle Connor, is reported to rake in £150,000 a year while her co-star Jack P Shepherd is said to earn a tidy sum.
As we revealed, Jack, 28, gets £200,000 a year to play loveable rogue David Platt.
Sources close to the ITV soap claimed the deal would make Jack one of the first “new breed” younger artists on Corrie to break the £200,000 year salary bracket.
But he’s not the only long-running star who’s been rewarded with a mega-bucks deal by the show.
In January Michael Le Vell was reported to have been handed a £170,000 salary deal to stay on the cobbles for another year.
The actor, who plays Kevin Webster, was said to have been given a £20,000 pay rise to boost his earnings.
And his on-screen daughter Rosie Webster (played by Helen Flanagan) is well paid for her work
Simon Gregson, who plays Steve McDonald, and Helen Flanagan are thought to earn a little less than their Wetherfield co-stars but it seems they won’t be worrying about paying their bills on time.
Simon – who’s been on the soap since 1989 – is thought to earn around £150,000 after signing a new contract in 2016.
Helen meanwhile was initially offered £30,000 for three months work when she reprised her role as Rosie Webster.
But after fans of the soap welcomed her back with open arms, she was asked to stay on and it’s claimed she’s now on a salary of around £120,000 a year.
Soap veterans William Roache and Barbara Knox are top of the pile however, with both reported to be in the £200,000 salary bracket.
William, who plays Ken Barlow, has been on the show since it started in 1960, with Barbara (Rita Tanner) joining him four years later in 1964.
The revelation about their salaries comes after a new report claimed Danny Dyer earns almost £100,000 a year more than his EastEnders castmate Steve McFadden.
The Mick Carter actor, 39, was revealed to be earning £400,000 at the end of last year, and now the earnings of other BBC soap stars have emerged.
Steve McFadden, who plays boozer Phil Mitchell, is said to be earning £310,000 according to the Daily Star.
In December, The Sun revealed that June Brown, who plays the long-suffering launderette lady, was in talks to remain on the show until at least March 2018.
If she took bosses up on their offer, the 90-year-old could expect to receive £300,000.
Adam Woodyatt, who plays Ian Beale, is said to take home over £260,000.

Daniel joined Corrie in late 2014, with his character Billy Mayhew going on to have a romance with barman Sean Tully, before dumping him for Todd Grimshaw.
Rob publicly opened up about his sexuality for the first time earlier this year, stressing that he never planned to keep his sexuality a secret.

Anne Nolan could be looking to swap her singing career for a role on the cobbles.
According to the Sunday Mirror, the 66-year-old Nolan sister is already in talks with Coronation Street bosses and has even recently done a script reading for the soap, so it could be likely that Anne will soon be following in her late soap star sister Bernie's footsteps.
While Anne is better known for her music career, following her time in The Nolans with a solo singing career that saw her debut album Just One Voice released in 2011, Bernie got stuck into roles in Brookside and The Bill before she passed away from breast cancer in 2013.
"I've been a huge fan of Coronation Street since 1960," Anne said in a statement to The Mirror.
"It's such a big part of people's lives so I was delighted to be asked to do a reading for the soap, I was thrilled and very excited to have been asked."
"If a suitable role came up, I would jump at the opportunity. Who wouldn't? To be part of such an iconic production would be fabulous."
A spokesman for the soap also added that they'd seen Anne for a reading, but added that she didn't audition for any role in particular.
"As regularly happens when casting a serial drama like Coronation Street, actors come in for readings with no specific character in mind," the statement read. "Anne Nolan has been in to read for us but wasn't seen for a particular role."
