He did say though that he loved her deeply, but I guess he never went for the theatre shows and other cultural things he would have liked to go to because he knew Deirdre would not appreciate it the same he would have. I suppose despite his feelings for her, he also felt frustrated at not being able to do the things he would have enjoyed doing. He sees Daniel as a younger version of him and pointed out some valid points, however, he should have spoken to Daniel or both Daniel and Sinead rather than intimidating and bullying Sinead on her own.

My son (Tom) has just gone through a somewhat similar experience in the sense that he had been going out with a girl for about two years and they seemed to get on well. They were very fond of each other. She was (is) a very nice girl but his problem was the same as Ken's really. He has quite academic interests, especially history and astronomy and cosmology, but she had no interest in these things at all and is much more interested in going out and having a good time. Nothing wrong in that in itself of course, but Tom realised that a life time together just would not work and that he would eventually get bored not being able to talk about the things that interested him.

In the end they decided to call it a day. He was very cut up about it as he was, as I say, extremely fond of her, but the thought of a lifetime living with her was just something he realised wasn't going to work, so better to get out now than later.

It's this sort of thing that Ken has lived with all his life and what he wants to save Daniel from. I agree that he maybe didn't go about it the right way and was quite condescending and patronising to Sinead but basically, I think he was right.

Not really. Love can happen quickly.

Ken was nasty. No need to talk like that to his son's girlfriend. Not Ken's decision to make, and people rarely listen with an attitude like his anyway.

He could have gone on his own to theatre shows and the like. He managed to have affairs quite well didn't he?!

Id rather Ken talk to my lady like that than burn my cash condemning to run for my life from a drug lord.

Ken is an intellect snob, always has been but then wasnt his last job pushing trollies at the local supermarket?

So how is Danielle going to pay his Oxford fees and support his kid? Cant be that bright a guy if he has never heard of contraception. So will Ken sell his house worth about two pence to help? Or is the baby to be terminated because the mother is too lower on the IQ scale.

Love it that Peter has strayed already, in your face Toyah, you know his back story of two wives but went with the walking lebedo anyway.

Mind you compared to EastEnders fans who have been really messed about on BBC One with Rugby, Football, Comic Relief, their schedule is all over the place, so Corrie fans aren't doing so badly.
