Well yes, you are right; Thank the Gods that I have never experience domestic abuse. But remember this is a "TV Show" and to me it doesn't make sense that the writers would make Rhonda seem weak. I had admired her strength with everything that she had been through. But the writers have an S.O.B like Pearce bring her down.

And my comment was not made to dismiss "real" cases of domestic violence by any means. And apologise if my comment has offended anyone.

I understand what you're saying, but what this Rhona/Pearce scenario shows is that any strong woman can become weak. It just takes the right circumstances. I think it's good that they are showing how a once strong woman who has overcome a lot, has become a weaker version of herself because of a man she loves. Abusers can take the strongest women and turn them into an emotional wreck. I know, I've been there, so I can totally understand and relate to this storyline. They chip away at your self confidence and make you feel worthless until you're a shadow of your former self and you don't even see it happening. Or you do and make excuses because you love them and dont want to admit that it's happening because you're scared of confronting the truth.

And you could argue if she was really such a strong woman to begin with she would have been strong enough to resist the drugs in the first place. She was strong enough to get through that but not strong enough to resist it initially. We all have our weak spots. Sometimes it takes a situation happening to actually find that strength. Not everyone has the strength to stop it happening in the first place. I've seen some of the strongest women I know taken down by manipulative, controlling, abusive men. These people are master manipulaters.

She has fallen in love with this guy. He's charmed her, got her hooked and now he's showing his real self once he's reeled her in. Now she's in too deep emotionally and has invested too much emotionally to easily pull herself out. By the time she's started to realise what he's actually like, she's already emotionally in too deep to have the strength to just walk away.

I do wish this guy would get his comeuppance though. He's so creepy to watch!!

Meanwhile, Emmerdale's Debbie Dingle is furious next week when her mum Charity crosses the line in her attempts to help Sarah.

Charity (Emma Atkins) is currently back to her cunning best by carrying out some clever cons, all in aid of raising money for the life-saving treatment that her granddaughter desperately needs.

Next week's episodes see Charity strike again by using an empty Home Farm as the perfect setting to con some jewellers and steal diamonds, much to the fury of Chrissie White when she finds out.

Chrissie is also livid over Charity stealing £50,000 from her and she threatens to get her revenge by calling the police.

While Lawrence does his best to play peacemaker between the village's biggest schemers and manages to sort things out, the trouble isn't over for Charity as she also faces a backlash from her own family.

With Debbie disapproving of the measures Charity has gone to this time, will she accept the money?
