This dementia storyline is very well done. Both actors are doing amazing job! So realistic..

The Ashley dementia storyline has been a real eye opener for me. Never fully appreciated the unpredictable severity that the condition can produce. Tended to think of it as more memory loss and maybe eccentric behaviour. I look forward to the episode which covers life as seen through Ashley's eyes. Top marks for once to Emmerdale and the actors involved , must be emotionally draining for them.

Great post... Ive only recently had my eyes opened to this horrible infliction too. In are relatives case they had enough money for a private 24/7 residence and they are brilliant with them. But just to only have day care and an occasional health attendant to your address.. how do people cope..Its such a vile thing, that in our relatives case they cared for the partner who got the issue till they passed only to get it them self.

Im guessing Emma over played her hand pulling the plug on the refrigerator, leaving the door open may have worked but both? Come on Ashley remember soon seeing Mad Emma on the bridge.

It's heartbreaking to think that the Ashley we all knew has gone forever, and that he will just be going downhill until the end. It's early onset dementia too, so poor Laurel, who is younger than Ashley anyway, is having to cope with this illness much earlier than most people. Plus she has a baby, a little boy and a stroppy teenage girl to cope with too.

It seems the only hope now is Ashley's video recorder , left on recording Emma's confession.
