Coming up on Emmerdale, here's a first look at the moment that Moira Dingle kisses her nephew Pete Barton – again!

The unlikely pair shared a brief romantic moment earlier this year, which they quickly tried to forget about, but they're drawn back to each other as Moira (Natalie J Robb) heads down a troubled path in the run-up to Christmas.

With Moira drinking heavily as she continues to struggle over Holly's death and her split from Cain, she ends up hungover and late for an important meeting about the farm.

When Moira finally gets to the meeting with help from Finn, it turns into a disaster and it's left to Pete (Anthony Quinlan) to comfort her as she gets upset afterwards.

Pete's support quickly turns to more as they move in for a kiss, but they should prepare themselves for fireworks when his current girlfriend Leyla finds out...

Here are the full set of pictures showing a terrible accident on the way in Emmerdale this Christmas as Moira Dingle makes the foolish decision to drink-drive.

Moira (Natalie J Robb) is regularly hitting the bottle in the run-up to Christmas this year, still struggling badly after the death of her daughter Holly and her split from Cain.

Things only get worse in Christmas week itself when Moira makes the impulsive decision to kiss her nephew Pete (again!) and also ruins an important business meeting with her erratic behaviour. So pretty chaotic all round, then.

Despite the awkwardness of that kiss, Pete is adamant that he needs to support Moira, even after his girlfriend Leyla Harding strongly warns him off from getting too involved with her dramas.

Leyla's worst fears are realised when she hears about the kiss between Moira and Pete, but how will she react to the scandalous moment? Well, we can't give everything away can we?

At breaking point after being humiliated yet again, Moira storms out of the pub after a boozy afternoon and recklessly gets behind the wheel.

As a concerned Cain fails to stop Moira from setting off, the inevitable happens as she drives dangerously towards one of the unlucky villagers.

It's Jacob Gallagher (Joe-Warren Plant) who finds himself in the firing line but Pete spots the danger and pushes him out of the way just in time, getting knocked down himself in the process.

Everyone's horrified for Pete as he lies injured on the floor, but just how serious was the collision? Surely we can't be losing yet another Barton in a crash calamity?

Emmerdale's Cain Dingle takes a major risk for his estranged wife Moira this Christmas by falsely implicating himself in a horrifying road collision.

Moira (Natalie J Robb) wreaks havoc over the festive season as she gets behind the wheel while drunk and causes a nasty accident.

As we revealed recently, Moira is on a downward spiral when she heads off in her van after too many drinks at The Woolpack.

Not concentrating properly, Moira drives straight for Jacob Gallagher in the road, but ultimately knocks down her own nephew Pete Barton (Anthony Quinlan) when he jumps in to save the teen.

Both unlucky victims end up in a bad way, as Pete is knocked unconscious in the collision while Jacob also collapses shortly afterwards.

When the pair's furious loved ones Emma and Leyla arrive on the scene asking questions, Cain (Jeff Hordley) immediately takes the blame - but his unexpected intervention leaves Moira guilt-ridden.

As everyone waits for news on Pete and Jacob at the hospital, the police arrive with their own tough questions to ask about the accident.

With things suddenly looking a lot more serious, can Cain really continue to cover for his ex, even though it could leave him with official charges? Or will Moira take matters out of his hands by confessing?
