I feel for you Splashy. Your sister sounds like a right piece of work! It's unimaginable that someone could be so lacking in empathy as to steal from a relative with dementia.
I'm very lucky that my close relatives are all very decent people. We have plenty of ups and downs, but nobody is selfish or malicious or deliberately nasty. Still, it sounds as if you have lots of good people in your life - including your landlady (who sounds like a bit of a character).
