    I also really like Perdita's green-eyed blinking cat .
So do I. That`s what made me decide to change mine.
I see what you mean about your Thumper avatar Dazzle. It has become a part of you.

We haven`t had many bumble bees around here this summer Dazzle. Lots of hornets and wasps - but sadly not many bumble bees.
My hubby`s cousin is a bee keeper, and he said that the bees seem to be dying off the past few years as he hasn`t made as much honey as he used to.

I love bees and I believe that their environment is being destroyed, less plants for them and certain chemicals being used that kills them off too ...

I'm glad you love the forum, it's my very favourite. I've signed up to many forums over the years but Soapboards is the only one I've stuck with.

You're not such a newbie any more.

I started planting lavender and other plants to attract bees a decade ago, and in that time the number that come to my garden has declined dramatically. It's very sad and worrying.

There's a constant battle going on here in Europe and the UK to save our bees and I've signed quite a few petitions trying to ban the chemicals that are responsible for killing them. There was a recent victory to ban them in the UK after a big campaign:

Unfortunately that's not the end of the matter as lobbyists are even now applying to the government to overturn the ban. Here's the most recent petition people who are interested can sign calling for transparency in the decision making process:

Let's hope the lobbyists for the chemical companies don't win!

I too have signed a number of petitions and shall continue to do so, it is so important that bees remain part of our environment

If it was the links in the quote that didn't work, try using the ones in my original post. Links in quotes don't work on this forum for some reason!
