The New Year's Eve The Sun Spoilers are very suggestive. They suggest that Robert is in a position to shoot Ross (dead?) on about the day (31/12/15) that Kate Oates leaves Emmerdale. Is this the BIG BANG storyline I always expected Kate Oates would arrange for us TV viewers at the end of her 3 year job at Emmerdale as Series Producer? Kate Oates brought the character Ross Barton into Emmerdale in 2013, so maybe she now acts like a "black widow spider" and consumes the one guy who gave her most pleasure by killing him off?

Maybe Debbie leaves Emmerdale because Ross is dead by New Year's Day 2016?

    Time will tell!
Kate Oates may leave then but her work will be at least a couple more months after that. I'm sure they plan stories months in advance. And Michael Parr said about them making him the shooter and he was worried but they told him how it was going to work out. Hinted that if Rob can get away with the Katie stuff then Ross can get away with this. Would be interesting to see the Robron fans defend that one though. Seeing as they wanted Ross punished for shooting.

Anyway I can't see it happening. Ross knows a lot of dirt on people. wouldn't take long for him to think of a threat

That plus storyline wise, on the spoilers you posted for new years day up above, Debbie goes to meet Chartiy in prison, if Ross has just died I doubt she would want to go to prison.
I disagree with you. I think that Kate Oates would have been approached by Corrie much further back than a few months ago. Kate Oates, as far as I know, only ever had a 3 year contract as Series Producer for Emmerdale. Maybe another soapboards poster here can reliably tell us otherwise for definite on this?

If Ross Barton died on New Year's Eve 2015, it would make complete sense to me for Debbie to talk to Charity the very next day, New Year's Day 2016, to talk about Debbie looking after Moses, as well as other issues. The limited spoilers so far do not say that Debbie visits Charity whilst Charity is in prison. This is just an assumption right now (OK, probably likely but not definite). Charity might have been released by then and may be just staying in someone's house somewhere? We are seeing spoilers for right now which are not very detailed but have been released much earlier than usual. I, for one, really still expect a MASSIVE BIG BANG before New Year's Day 2016 and cannot yet think of anything else other than Ross Barton being killed off by then. Ross's final fatal comeuppance for everything he has done over the past 2 years would, for me, for one anyway, be just a terrific end and natural conclusion to Kate Oates's management of Emmerdale since 2012.

But you posted yourself another spoiler in a different thread

Following Charity Tate's confession that Ross Barton is in fact the father of baby Moses, expect her return to the village to be accompanied by fireworks. As he attempts to work on his relationship with girlfriend Debbie - the reappearance of her mother and his secret lover is only going to be bad news.

When exactly is she getting out then? Before new years day? would seem silly to kill Ross off just before that happens as obviously it's building up to be a reason for Debbie leaving.

exactly! storyline wise, it just wouldn't work, the way Telly Watcher is thinking of it.

Are you sure that's not wishful thinking? A couple of weeks ago someone said they don't think Ross will leave for a while and you said you believed they were just wishful thinking. It's starting to look like its the other way round...

Ross get his comeuppance? ERM what about Robert aswell? He had killed, shot, held people hostage, buried people alive almost and hired a hitman on Chas. If Ross goes and Robert stays then it is purely just catering the Robert/Aaron fans.
