Probably pregnant. She wouldn't know who the wife was nor where to find him (he didn't give her his postcode and left saying he was getting a taxi.)

Unless of course her husband is infertile, she didn't know and it caught her out when she told him she was pregnant. Husband could have done an Ian Beale also (bet he wishes Bobby had been Garry Hobbs's now!)

Emmerdale's vet Paddy Kirk is a guilty man since his one-night stand with Tess, a married woman he met in a bar while out on the town with Marlon. But soap newcomer Nicola Stephenson (Tess) thinks fans will forgive her once they know her...

Former Brookside star Nicola told What's on TV: “I don’t think people will hate Tess as she does come across as a really nice person. This has happened to two people who would seemingly never do this. Hopefully it will make the audience feel very uneasy in their own relationships. This could happen to anybody.”

To ease his troubled conscience, Paddy is paying extra attention to his wife, Rhona, hoping she won't notice his shifty behaviour. But Paddy's set to get a shock when Tess unexpectedly turns up in the village on Bonfire Night!

“Paddy's made a few mistakes in the past, but nothing quite like this, which has thrown the character out of kilter," said Dominic. "People will be thinking, ‘No, don’t do that. You’ve got a wife and a child. Why are you doing it?’ But I love it... he can't always be a saint."

But with Tess set to be in the village for a while after landing a job as teaching assistant to Paddy's stepson, Leo, how long will Paddy and Tess be able to keep their guilty secret from Rhona?

Paddy gets a shock when Tess turns up in the village in Emmerdale on Wednesday, November 4 on ITV.

Nicola Stephenson jokes about Emmerdale affair plot: 'Dominic Brunt doesn't like kissing me'

There's no smooches in rehearsals for Paddy and Tess.

Their on-screen affair is set to cause fireworks on ​Emmerdale​, but Nicola Stephenson has joked that her new co-star Dominic Brunt isn't too comfortable with their kisses.

The former ​Brookside​ and ​Waterloo Road actress has joined the ITV soap in the role of teaching assistant Tess Harris, who slept with Brunt's character Paddy Kirk when they met on a night out a few weeks ago.

Tess and Paddy both thought that their passionate encounter was just a one-off, but they've now discovered that they'll be spending a lot more time together as Tess is the teaching assistant of Paddy's stepson Leo.

​Speaking on ITV's ​Good Morning Britain​ about landing the storyline, Stephenson commented: "It's what you want, really! It's really a gift to go into an established show and get quite a racy storyline straight away. Just go in, stir things up and go home again. It's lovely - it's a real treat.

"And I know loads of people in ​Emmerdale, weirdly. Jeff Hordley, I went to senior school with. He was my mate when I was 15, so it's really nice to see him and his wife Zoe [Henry]. There's also Gillian Kearney who was in ​Brookside​."

However, discussing her new on-screen lover, she laughed: "He doesn't like kissing me! I don't think he likes it! I'm not bothered - I'll kiss anybody quite frankly, if the part calls for it!

"He's such a gentleman, Dominic who plays Paddy, he's absolutely joyous to work with. He's very much a gentleman so he'll only kiss me on the take. I think, 'What's wrong with me?!'

Stephenson added that she is delighted she is still remembered for another soap kiss - the landmark moment when her ​Brookside​ character Margaret Clemence locked lips with Beth Jordache (Anna Friel) in 1994.

This was the first ever pre-watershed lesbian kiss to be broadcast on British TV.

She said today: "It's lovely, isn't it? It's really nice. We wouldn't have thought that at the time, when we were doing it. It was good fun and everything, but it's astonishing to think that people still talk about it."

hope we see and meet tess husband, cant see the appeal for her in paddy

Tess and Paddy met at the singles bar night (in Robblesfield?) on Friday 25 September 2015, on the same night as when Robert was shot in Emmerdale. Tess and Paddy then made love in the back of Tess's car before she drove him back to near the village.

Since then, they have met again because Tess has become the teaching assistant for Paddy's son Leo.

ITV spoilers for Thursday 3 December say that Paddy finds Tess upset in her car at the school and suggests they talk as friends, but when Tess unburdens her marriage troubles, the pair realise they want more and go in for a kiss. Despite feeling guilty for sleeping with Tess again, Paddy is saddened when she suggests it can't happen anymore. Unable to get Tess out of his mind, he texts her but is left wondering if he's done the right thing.

Then on Friday 4 December, Tess is taken aback when Paddy tells her about his and Rhona's adoption meeting, but she also has news of her own.

Friday 4 December is ten weeks after Tess and Paddy first had sex.
