Soap spoilers: Emmerdale revenge

Coming up on Emmerdale, Ross Barton returns with a bang as he reignites his dangerous feud with his brother Pete.

Ross (Michael Parr) is still out for revenge when he returns to the village after some time away, so he confronts Pete with a baseball bat at the caravan and knocks him unconscious.

When Pete (Anthony Quinlan) regains consciousness again, he is shocked to find that he is hanging perilously from a high viaduct.

Menacing Ross has attached Pete to a winch and has full control over his fate, leaving him calling all the shots.

Ross orders Pete to leave a suicide message for James before jumping off the viaduct, but he's surprised when his defeated brother agrees to his sinister demands.

After apologising to Ross and saying he loves him, Pete starts typing an emotional message to James into his phone. Can Ross really go ahead with pushing his brother to suicide?

Emmerdale airs these scenes on Monday, October 26 at 7pm on ITV.

Cain attempts to kill Robert by oxygen starvation in the hospital during the Wednesday October 21st episode. Ross returns to Emmerdale during the Thursday 22nd 7pm episode. Ross may then himself attempt to kill Robert in the hospital either during this episode or the Friday 23rd one?

It has been bothering me that Aaron said that he was looking for Andy at the garage (in the dark when the garage was closed and Andy was supposed to be in the mental health unit). Andy phoned Diane and Victoria just before Robert got shot, they then found the broken photo of Robert and Chrissie on the private lounge floor and assumed that Andy was around (I think Lawrence broke the photo after Robert left Lawrence alone in the lounge after Robert's text message came through). Diane and Vic might have gone downstairs into the pub and told Aaron that they thought Andy was around. Aaron would then have gone looking for Andy, heard the gunshot whilst at the garage and then ran behind the line of cottages leading to the pub car park where Aaron found Chas kneeling next to Robert. So, there isn't any proof from this that Andy was in Emmerdale, just an assumption based on a mobile phone call received by Diane and Victoria in the pub private lounge.

I think Ross is not happy that Andy is friendly now towards Pete because Ross wanted Pete to be miserable about leaving Ross for dead in the woods and was hoping that Pete would kill himself. This obviously hasn't worked yet for Ross, hence Ross's new way of making it look as if Pete commits suicide by falling off the viaduct. I think Pete is the only person who knows that Ross had a gun before Ross threw it into the stream, so this is another reason for wanting Pete dead. I don't know what the spoiler "Pete is horrified to learn the truth..." means as yet but it could be that the police tell everyone (Wed 21st/Thur 22nd?) that Aaron's gun wasn't the one that was used to shoot Robert with, so Pete thinks Ross shot Robert with Ross's gun (but this doesn't mean Ross did, of course, but it does raise questions that he might have for Pete)?

Ross may have his own reasons for wanting to kill Robert in the hospital. Maybe Cain or Chrissie sets him up to do it for money, or maybe Ross just knows that Robert knows something about Ross which is enough to try to kill him?

Everything is still unclear and questions remain.

As a Ross fan (as my name suggests) I am hoping Ross isn't the one who shot Robert.

Ross is such a complex character as it is and Michael Parr is the show's best actor (imo) but i do worry what the future will hold for Ross on the show (i don't think he can have one) if this is true.

I doubt any news site knows yet who shot Robert. Soaps know that embargos occasionally get broken and wouldn't risk leaks in this way.
