Andy panics

Is the unlucky villager Pete during a "boy's day out" with Andy? By "deadly", does it mean really dead?

However the bike scrambling could lead to a bigger story down the line involving Andy. Which has not long been filmed. Maybe this could affect the kids and Debbie

Andy veers off down a restricted area, but quickly pulls to a stop when he sees a steep drop.
Andy rushes to the edge of the rise to see what happened to Pete. He sees the lake below and Pete lifeless face down...

I wonder what "Andy panics" means? Leaves? Brings help? Climbs down and saves Pete? And is Pete laying face down unconscious in the lakewater (=needs resuscitation)?

I suppose death-by-drowning might be a bit too much to expect as an outcome for Pete, although Kate Oates is leaving very soon so maybe she's planned several character exits to end her job at Emmerdale with by January?

Sounds like Pete falls clear of the water then.

Maybe Pete needs specialist hospitalisation for months and Debbie leaves Emmerdale to support him?

This seems to be a very set-up storyline to me.

Robert pushed Katie at Wylie's Farm, the rotten floorboards gave way and Katie fell to her death in the barn below. Robert and Aaron then left and Robert went to his wedding with Chrissie, with Andy later finding missing Katie himself when he went looking for her.

Now Andy has set Pete up to follow him on a motorbike on a dangerous part of the trials bike course and this has resulted in Pete accidentally falling over a cliff. Time will tell if Pete dies like Katie. I think it's just a plot device to make Andy forgive or at least understand that Robert didn't mean to kill Katie, and for Andy to be less hard on Robert when he wakes up someday after Pete's accident.

The big story for this week is how Andy goes motocross bike riding with Pete on a boy's day out. Andy is still in inner turmoil and angry over Katie's death and rushes into riding without listening properly to the pre-ride safety talk. With Pete in hot motocross pursuit, Andy crashes through a barrier and rides onto a restricted woodland area before realising there is steep drop right ahead. He manages to stop and tries to warn Pete behind him but Pete doesn't and rides straight over the cliff, plunging into the lake water below. Andy looks over the cliff edge and sees Pete floating face-down and still in the water. Andy looks around for help but none is around. Does Andy decide to move back and take a running jump over the cliff to land in the water to rescue Pete? Find out on ITV from 7pm on Thursday 8th October 2015.
