Val's funeral was a joke with eric's behaviour. He had plenty of time to grieve and get himself together in two three weeks, how about Catholic funerals where you have to plan funeral service straight away and burial in 2-3 days. Grieving is a long process but eric's behaviour has been totally ott.
That dog went behind David with tail between her legs when she saw Eric or whatever his real name is -I would never allow my dog to be shouted at and treated like that in any soap etc.
Whole Emmerdale has become nothing but a miserable crying game anyway! We see more snot every evening than anything else..
1) Every single person is different, you can't really 'normalise' griefing behaviour and I've read that Eric used to be sort of a villian in the past. So some of that behaviour resurfacing would be realistic for his character.

2) You would really leave someone in that state? Suicide - or harm to others is a real concern here. I seeiously hope you wouldn't leave someone like that to themselves.
