The police do get involved as this guy reports Lawrence for assault

Dev never got any compensation when the tram crash ruined his shop. He said he never kept up the insurance payments but that would have no bearing on a compensation claim. Did Tyrone get anything for the death of Molly? Soaps seem to leave all this out.
If u want an.honest answer - based on soap
    form -probably not!

I dont actually remember an inquest after
the ED 1993crash which was much bigger in
terms of loss of life- 4 residents killed+
1 still.unaccounted for! And dozens of foreign
    nationals (.Eastern European plane)

Ive checked wiki -very surface check.- and
    cant find mention of inquest!
With both crashes there have been complaints
about insensitivity.because of recent events at
    the time.
    1993 Lockerbie air crash
    2015 Clutha crash
So perhaps wont want to re-ignite this
by showing scenes about the legal
    aftermath of air- crashes.Theres also
    recent tragic Shoreham crash.

As they seem to be building a big story
about the effects the crash and losing
Val is having on Eric- depends on.where
    they go with that.
If its mainly his mental state and depression
probably wont hear much about legalities.

If he centres on.justice etc( even tho he was
partly responsible. by locking them in)
then there may be more about inquest etc.

As a general point -I think viewers would
prefer it -if loose ends (such as you mention)
were tidied up.and explained. It doesnt
have to be a big dramatic scene -just a few
lines of dialogue between 2 characters to
say such and such has happened.

One reason they might like to leave some
things unexplained is that it makes retcons
easier to do at a later date!

Nor would most people -but Lawrence does seem
very gullible( or hopeful) in some respects.

    Perhaps Connor sent as bait?
