Big Corrie Fire
Coronation Street is lining up another big stunt, as the show's cast and crew have been filming shock fire scenes.
The Corrie team were working on the major storyline on a night shoot at the ITV soap's base in Trafford on Tuesday evening (April 14), catching the attention of locals in the surrounding area.
Officials at the Greater Manchester Fire and Rescue Service made a statement on Twitter after concerned members of the public mistakenly reported the special effects as a real-life fire.
We understand that the storyline in question will air in May, when a fire breaks out at the Victoria Court flats.
Little more is known about the plot at this stage, but it will be the first major stunt to be filmed at Coronation Street's new set at MediaCityUK.
Corrie last aired a fire storyline in early 2013, when the Rovers Return was set ablaze by Karl Munro. The story led to the departure of Sunita Alahan as she was seriously injured in the fire and was later killed by Karl at the hospital because she knew too much.
