I believe in honesty and telling the truth-but there may be exceptions.
Yes, it would have been nicer to see Michael to put things right with his real son, but when Gavin doesn't really want that and with Michael's health problems-maybe it's better to leave it the way it is. What you don't know, doesn't hurt you.
As a storyline-I don't really understand why it was written this way. For me, it would have been enough to watch the real Gavin(which I prefer the actor of Andy)and his dad to bond. All this fake Gavin thing was totally unnecessary..

Isn't most of the drama in soaps unnecessary really though? How else would they fill 4 or 5 episodes a week?

I'm enjoying this storyline and think it's one of the best in Corrie at the moment. I'm intrigued to see what fake Gavin will do when the real Gavin dies. I too feel it'd probably be best that Michael never knows since he's grown to love Andy, but that won't be wringing the maximum amount of drama from the situation so the storyline won't be allowed to rest there.

He has to know but that should not stop them having a father and son relationship in the future. I really like the actor who plays Andy. He could not have played Callum well. Glad he took the right part.

I agree with general comment about drama
and the average character will have more
such events than would be in real life.
Its the writing and loose ends that I find
    more annoying!
As Michaels operation is unsuccessful and
he needs transplant - will Gail be widowed
again!! or will there be transplant. Tracy has
had a kidney transplant from Diedres
    husband!
I know some celebrities /film stars have
have had more marriages -dont think
    widowed so often tho!
As this is spoiler thread -hope its ok to
    comment!

Yeah it's fine to post spoilers on spoiler threads MM.

I didn't know the transplant would be unsuccessful, but that's my fault for going on a spoiler thread! I can't resist when I see conversation going on even though I try my best to resist reading the spoilers themselves.

If the real Gavin were to die after Michael found out he needed a transplant that'd be the perfect time for the secret to come out, but from what little I've read on the subject Gavin dies first.

Maybe real Gavin is an organ donor and Michael will end up with his real son's heart??

The thing is that organs are transplanted almost straight away to the first suitable person on the list, so it's unlikely that could happen given the timing (as I think the real Gavin dies very soon). But then this isn't real life, is it?

The heart will be identified as the best suitable for Michael, we will see the courier attempt to bring the heart from one hospital to the one Michael is anxiously awaiting his operation ... roadworks and traffic accident will delay courier .... but just as the transplant doctor is going to cancel the op, the courier will deliver
