There are happier times ahead for Ian Beale on EastEnders this Christmas when his ex-wife Jane proposes to him.

Jane decides to pop the question to Ian (Adam Woodyatt) during the Walford Community Choir concert, but her spontaneous act of romance comes after a troubling day for the pair.

After spending the night with Ian, Jane (Laurie Brett) is riddled with doubts over whether he can genuinely change his ways. However, after some advice from Alfie Moon and her ex Masood Ahmed, she makes a decision.

When the choir begin their Christmas concert in the Square, Ian is surprised when Jane gets up on stage and starts singing 'All I Want For Christmas Is You'.

As the song continues and the choir join in, Jane gets down on one knee and proposes to Ian. Will he accept?

EastEnders has released a full set of pictures showing the Beale family as their Christmas Day takes an eerie turn.

Seen in full for the first time, the pictures reveal that the Beales and the Brannings celebrate the day together, but they are all seemingly left stunned by an unsettling development.

As previously reported, teenager Cindy Williams (Mimi Keene) is surprised when she spots a suspicious present among the other gifts underneath the Beales' tree.

With the package addressed to Beth, Cindy decides to open it herself and is horrified to find an eerie gift inside.

The unpleasant discovery adds further difficulty to what is already a challenging Christmas for the Beales, as it is their first one without Lucy following her death in April.

However, with Lauren, Abi and Max all in the house prior to the discovery, could one of them be responsible? And is it a message from Lucy's killer?

EastEnders airs these scenes on Christmas Day at 9pm on BBC One.

There could be more trouble brewing for the Carter family in EastEnders when Mick brings Sylvie to The Vic for Christmas dinner.

New pictures show Mick (Danny Dyer) arriving at the pub with Sylvie in tow, while Aunt Babe, Shirley and Stan are all horrified by the surprising turn of events.

Viewers were introduced to Shirley's mother Sylvie, played by Linda Marlowe, last week after she paid a brief visit to Walford.

Wanting to protect the secret about Mick's true parentage, both Shirley (Linda Henry) and Aunt Babe (Annette Badland) are keen to keep Sylvie at arm's length, but Mick is determined to get to know the woman he believes is his mother.

When Mick convinces a reluctant Aunt Babe and Shirley to let him meet Sylvie for lunch, he immediately warms to her and gives her a heartfelt Christmas present. However, as Aunt Babe gets her ready to leave, Sylvie tells Mick that she wants to spend Christmas with him.

On Christmas Day, Shirley and Aunt Babe are horrified to see that Mick has granted Sylvie's request and brought her for dinner. How will the family react? And could Shirley's secret finally be revealed?

Marlowe said previously: "I don't think the family particularly want her there but Sylvie cajoles Mick into inviting her because he has great sympathy for her. In the previous scenes she has literally said, 'Please, I want to be with you at Christmas'.

"I think the family are not that thrilled to see Sylvie because they're worried for different reasons as to what might happen. There are so many different things that come out at Christmas - it's a complete minefield!"

EastEnders airs these scenes on Christmas Eve at 8pm and Christmas Day at 9pm on BBC One.

In one interview Mick says he goes wild
and justice is served on Dean beautifully.
I wondered how that might be ? Bobbit
style ? If so I hope theyve carved the turkey
    first.
Only other hint in spoilers is -Queen Vic gets
    damaged-not sure how that punishes
    Dean.
What do.u think would be fitting punishment.
Theyve said it wont be thru legal channels?

Compulsive viewing, particularly this year. Liqueur chocolates at the ready ( Have a emergency box should the grand kids have forgotten to tell Santa to pop them in his sack for grandpa ) .Always watch it live and record for quiet viewing later Always someone talking or making distractions just at the critical moments...
Agree about Dean , love to see Linda laying into him for a bit of payback, show him a little peace and goodwill with a good slapping
