Marcus Christie is a solicitor employed by Phil and Grant Mitchell (Steve McFadden and Ross Kemp), and appears sporadically to represent them both in numerous criminal matters. Marcus often gets Phil and Grant out of trouble and is never afraid to bend the rules; he cons Dan Sullivan (Craig Fairbrass) into selling his share of the The Queen Victoria public house to Phil.

First appearing in November 1990, his last appearance is in December 2004, when just before Christmas he cons Sam Mitchell (Kim Medcalf) by telling her that Phil, who is on the run, needs all the money he can get. Sam sells all of the Mitchell empire, including The Queen Vic pub to Den Watts (Leslie Grantham), and gives Marcus the money. Marcus then flees Walford to start a new life abroad with all the money. It is revealed that Marcus was in on the con with Den Watts, because Den wanted to regain his position as the landlord of the Queen Vic 16 years after he had first sold it.

It was announced that Marcus is due to return to the show on 25 July 2014

Does Sharon know about that? If so, she should be careful not to get double-crossed by Marcus, something I don't doubt could happen if Phil finds out and in soapland, that is usually the case ....

This was before my time when I started watching the show. Didn't know about Marcus, but if it turns out he's Max's new solicitor then all the better! I can't think why he would come back, though? If he scammed Phil, he must have a deathwish.
