Emmerdale's James Barton is confirmed to be Adam's biological father next week after he arranges a secret DNA test.

James, played by Bill Ward, is shocked as he finally gets proof that Adam is his son rather than his nephew.

Holding all of the cards following his life-changing discovery, James soon orders Moira to tell Adam (Adam Thomas) the truth once and for all.

When Moira refuses to cooperate with his demands, James then considers a drastic plan to reveal the bombshell news in the middle of Moira's wedding to Cain Dingle (Jeff Hordley).

Well aware that James could ruin everything, Moira will be left terrified as she heads down the aisle to tie the knot with Cain.

James gets the chance for his big moment when the registrar asks whether anyone knows of any reason why Moira and Cain shouldn't be married, but viewers will have to tune in to find out whether he does decide to speak up.

Speaking of the big episodes, Natalie J Robb - who plays Moira - explained: "Moira is really anxious and nervous at the wedding. She doesn't know what's going to happen or what James is going to do, because he's acting like a bit of a loose cannon around her.

"Because he's already gone behind her back with the DNA test, there's no telling what he's going to do next.

"If Moira had her way, James would keep it quiet forever. She wants this to be a secret that goes to the grave."

She continued: "When Moira's wedding day arrives, she thinks that James is going to tell the truth. She goes into the ceremony and James gives her a look which makes her think it's all over."

Emmerdale will air the wedding scenes on Thursday, May 15 at 7pm and 8pm on ITV.

Monday

Debbie squirms as Ross tells Cain that some woman threw herself at him last night. Later, Pete is unnerved when Debbie alludes to his previous assault and wonders how she has found out. Debbie makes it clear that he needs to stay away from her and the kids from now on.

Unable to let it go, Pete goes over to Mulberry and insists to Debbie that he would have told her about the assault had she asked, but Debbie slams the door in his face. With Pete annoyed, it's Vanessa who offers him somewhere to turn. After a drink and a few kind words, could Debbie have just pushed Pete into the arms of someone else?

Meanwhile, with the salon well under way, Bernice wants to arrange some volunteers for Kerry to practise her pampering on, and Chas is struck with an idea.

Later, Charity brightens when Chas tells her that she has booked them a spa day. However, when Charity doubles up in pain, she is annoyed that Chas insists on calling the doctor. The doctor is keen for Charity to get herself checked at the hospital but Charity insists she is fine, refusing to let the baby get in the way of her day. Soon afterwards, Chas is horrified when Charity admits that she has booked in for a termination. Can Chas talk sense into her?

Elsewhere, Belle wants to make the most out of Sean having secured an empty house. When Dan and Kerry arrive home unexpectedly, will they be caught out?

Also today, Moira is uneasy when Adam explains that he caught James snooping around at the farm, but she is relieved to see the money is still where she left it. At the same time, James steals one of Adam's socks.



Tuesday

Moira feels backed into a corner when Zak suggests that she lets Chas bring James to the wedding.

Later, James is uneasy as he looks at the DNA results envelope before opening it. Soon James determinedly approaches Moira and boldly tells her that he will be going to her wedding…

Meanwhile, Charity receives a call to say that her wedding has been cancelled due to asbestos in the building. Chas tells her that it's a sign and pleads for her to put a stop to it all, but Charity is determined to go ahead with her plans. Chas then tells Cain about her concerns over Charity's wedding and planned termination, and asks him to talk to her.

Just as Charity is rearranging her wedding location Cain arrives, explaining that he's not leaving until he has talked some sense into her. Will Cain succeed? And is it wise for this pair to get together before their weddings, given their ongoing love-hate relationship?

Elsewhere, Pete apologises to Vanessa for letting her down, but instead she thanks him - he has made her realise she does like men after all. Pete takes the honest approach and tells Debbie what happened. A confused Debbie then admits everything to Chas.

Also today, Dan remains determined to keep Sean and Belle apart.

Finally, Jai informs Georgia and Rishi that Priya is coming home for the day, but the family are worried about how to behave around her.


Wednesday

Chas is delighted that Moira has invited James to the wedding, but she is confused by his odd behaviour. Later, James confronts Moira with the DNA test results, which confirm that Adam is his son. A furious James drags Moira to the cupboard and she is caught out when he shows her the bag of hidden cash.

Moira and James are in mid-argument when Adam arrives. James instructs Moira that it's now time to tell Adam the truth, before marching out. Will Moira come clean at the risk of losing everything?

Meanwhile, when Charity realises that Cain is playing her, she ignores Cain's warning and sticks to her original plan of marrying Declan. At the same time, despite everyone being lacklustre over his big day, Declan is looking forward to marrying Charity. Later, at his stag party Declan taunts Cain, claiming that he wants Charity and is only marrying Moira because he bought her. Will Cain be able to bite his tongue? Or will he take pleasure in filling Declan in on Charity's earlier proposition?

Elsewhere, Pete tells Debbie the details of his past assault and they decide to give their relationship another go. However, Debbie quickly finds that she is feeling unnerved when Ross sees them together. Will Ross ruin things for Debbie just as she and Pete are back on track?

Also today, Sean tells Belle that he loves her, prompting Belle to realise she cannot go through with their plan.

Finally, Jai is concerned by Priya's reliance on David and later warns David that Priya is still in love with him.


Thursday

On the morning of her wedding, a tearful Moira leaves James a voicemail, pleading for him not to ruin things. Adam is concerned that something is wrong. At the Woolpack, Chas insists that Moira wants her to be at the wedding as she has family missing. James agrees, but is determined for the truth to be known.

As the guests begin to arrive at the farm, James takes the opportunity to slip away to the house. Inside, Moira begs James not to ruin her wedding day, pleading that he keeps quiet over Adam. However, James is not going to make it easy for her as he threatens that if she doesn't stop it, he will.

Alone and worried, Moira is tearful as she finds a thoughtful gift from Cain. She is desperate to marry the man she loves, but is terrified over what James will do. Over in the beautifully decorated barn, an anxious Cain awaits his late bride, sensing something is wrong...

Meanwhile, Charity is getting ready for her big day and seems saddened that she is preparing alone, with Debbie attending Cain's wedding. At the café, Declan is excited for his big day and tells Megan that he is glad she will be there. He explains that she will be in charge of the business for the next month, leaving Megan wondering what he has planned.

Once Charity is ready to leave, she reassures Noah that this is the last time she is going to get married. They head out as Charity tries to convince herself that she is doing the right thing. But is she? And can she really go through with it?

Elsewhere, Zak is honoured when Cain asks him to be his best man.

Also, Laurel worries about Marlon's priorities and Rhona picks up on Laurel's sadness.

Finally, Debbie clocks Ross as he flirts with Donna.


Thursday (2)

The congregation begins to suspect that something is amiss. Cain heads to the farmhouse and when he finds Moira's bedroom door locked, he shouts through to her - demanding that they sort this out or the wedding is off. Moira tells Cain the door is stuck and she can't get it open, but she loves him and wants to marry him. Relieved it's nothing more serious, Cain kicks the door open before heading back to the barn - unaware that Moira is still not dressed and has been crying.

Before long, Moira finally appears looking beautiful at the end of the aisle. When the registrar asks the dreaded question - if anyone knows of any lawful impediment, to speak now - Moira locks eyes with James. Will this be the moment he ruins everything?

Meanwhile, in a gazebo outside Home Farm, Charity and Declan's small wedding service begins. With just Megan, Robbie, Noah and the registrar in attendance, it's a low-key affair - but it seems Megan is doing all she can to sabotage the ceremony. Just as the wedding rings are needed, they are found to be missing and Robbie leaves to track them down, whilst Charity looks for an alternative solution.

When the fire alarm suddenly goes off, the registrar is interrupted just at the point before she is able to pronounce Declan and Chairty husband and wife. The penny drops for Charity that Megan is behind the day's antics. Charity is swift to throw a punch, but will she tie the knot?

Elsewhere, Alicia cannot help but feel put out when Priya calls David and asks him to pick her up from the clinic.

Also, when Ross passes comments about Donna to Debbie, she is quick to warn him that Donna is a policewoman.


Friday

When Priya walks into the shop, the atmosphere is awkward as Alicia points out that David is not around as he is on a course. In a bid to prevent fuelling gossip, they attempt to normalise the situation and find themselves laughing together. However, their laughter soon turns to fear when Priya's waters break.

Alicia instructs Pearl to call the hospital before she and Leyla haul a terrified Priya into the new car. But it seems their journey is not set to be a smooth one when they break down en route. Will Alicia be forced to deliver Priya's premature baby?

Meanwhile, Charity worries when she faces an unexpected obstacle in order to terminate her pregnancy. Will she be able to find a solution?

Elsewhere, Chas tries to talk to James about his behaviour and he denies he has feelings for Moira.

Also today, Donna makes an excuse to talk to Ross, who is left intrigued by her visit. Debbie warns Donna off bad boy Ross.

Finally, Dan is angry when he arrives home to find Kerry dressed as a bride and Amelia gushing about the wedding competition.

Moira and James happened way before her and Cain so he shouldn't be too mad, yes she should have told him about her and James when James first arrived and tried to woo her again

I can see Adam being very mad and rightly so as he adored John and now he wasn't his real father
