I think Charity will get Declan to withdraw the charges against Sam in exchange for Rachel disappearing with Archie for ever. As we know Rachel (Gemma) is leaving anyway

The police and Declan aren't on best terms anyway. Shouldn't they be questioning him after they found a dead body on his land and he covered it up?

Can't remember too many story lines, but I've always thought lots of people get away with crimes in Emmerdale. Think there was a storyline when Marylin from Home and Away got away with murder.
