I read that both gennie and nikhil's characters leave at different times so you could be right.

And the fact she is now only learning to drive must be storyline coming about that which is a shame I wanted a happy ending or Gennie, Nikhil and baby Molly so they could return in the future

Gennie Sharma is to lose control of her car and send it plunging down a ravine after being chased by Debbie Dingle (Charley Webb) and murderous Cameron Murray (Dominic Power).

In scenes to be shown next week, a suspicious Gennie will be seen eavesdropping on the pair in a bid to prove to her sister Chas that Cameron is not all that he seems. Armed with a dictaphone, Gennie surreptitiously records the illicit lovers, but ends up hearing far more than she expected after Cameron makes a shock confession.

“Gennie loves her sister and she wants her to be safe. And she feels in her gut that Cameron is a dangerous man,” says Sian Reese-Williams, who plays Gennie. “So she’s become quite obsessed with getting to the truth. But she ends up getting far more than she bargained for. At first, it’s only the affair that she overhears, but the bombshell that follows is a huge shock. It confirms all the feelings she’s had, but she’s frightened at this point and just wants to get away from them both.”

Gennie, who up until this point has been hiding at Debbie’s house, panics and flees. But Cameron and Debbie notice Gennie and quickly realise that she’s heard everything and make a desperate attempt to stop her.

After a standoff at the garage, Gennie revs up her new car and escapes with Debbie and Cameron in hot pursuit in Debbie’s car. But nervous driver Gennie - preoccupied by fears of what will happen next - loses control of the vehicle, careers off the road and tumbles own a ravine.

“It’s high-octane stuff,” says the actress. “We shot it in Scarborough over four nights and it’s a massive stunt.”

Viewers will witness Debbie and Cameron rushing to the road railings, but with the car lying crumpled at the bottom of the ravine, it’s certainly not looking good for Gennie.

The storyline marks the end of Sian Reese-Williams’s time on Emmerdale, having been on the ITV soap for five years. So is she pleased with her send-off? “Yes I am. I handed my notice in a long time ago to make sure I got a fitting exit. And we’ve definitely got that.”

Emmerdale's Gennie Sharma will be involved in a horrific car crash next week, after being chased by Cameron and Debbie.

Determined to prove to her sister Chas that Cameron is bad news, Gennie plans to set him up by planting a dictaphone in his house.

However, she gets more than she bargained for as she gets stuck there when he returns home with Debbie and ends up overhearing a shocking confession.

Here, Sian Reese-Williams - who plays Gennie - talks about Gennie's terrifying ordeal.

Gennie doesn't like or trust Cameron and now she thinks he has been threatening towards Debbie. Is Gennie keen to warn Chas at this point?
"I think, having been threatened herself by him in a very veiled kind of way, and being confused about that because he turned it and it looked like it wasn't. Seeing the evidence of him doing it again to someone else has made her think, 'OK, I wasn't wrong and my sister needs to be warned because he obviously isn't right in the head'. She doesn't know quite what his deal is but she knows she doesn't trust him."

Gennie has recently learned to drive but hasn't yet told Nikhil about Rishi giving her a car. How does she think Nikhil will react?
"The Sharma family has broken down completely and there is just constant tension. She is nervous about the fact that Nikhil might go off and make her give it back and she doesn't want to."

She does go to Chas to make her listen. But Chas doesn't, does she?
"I think Chas has got her blinkers on. There have been occasions previously where they think he has been up to no good and he has very cleverly wormed his way out. He has managed to convince Chas at least that they have got the wrong end of the stick every time. I don't know whether she is completely convinced, but one more thing from Gennie tips the balance over to Chas saying, 'I don't believe you, go away.' The more Gennie protests, the more Chas says that and it is a vicious circle really."

What can Gennie do to convince Chas? She needs evidence doesn't she?
"She just wants what is best for her sister. She is a bit of an amateur detective and she likes to get involved in that sort of thing. At first Gennie just thinks he is threatening Debbie for some reason and doesn't understand why and then she sees a moment which is quite clearly something more and she realises they are back on. But Chas won't listen and she thinks Gennie just wants Cameron gone. She tells her that if Gennie forces her to choose, she will choose Cameron."

She plans to plant a Dictaphone in Debbie's house and then sneak out. What happens next?
"Gennie is quietly stuck upstairs whilst Debbie and Cameron are rowing and talking. She is very carefully trying to make sure they don't know she is there. Andy and Katie knock on the door and she is praying they open it so it is all diffused and she can get out."

Gennie hears more than she was planning to while stuck upstairs. Is she shocked?
"It's quite a huge shock. She gets a lot more than she bargained for really."

Does it confirm everything she has ever thought about Cameron?
"Yes and all the gut feelings she doesn't really know why she had. They all fall into place."

Debbie and Cameron eventually spot Gennie trying to leave the house and she panics. Is she aware of just how angry they will be that she has heard their conversation?
"Yes. It is quite massive stuff and she will be frightened at that point. She just wants to get away from them both for different reasons. She doesn't want to walk into their path. She is an experienced driver and she gets behind the wheel of a car she hasn't really driven before and sets off with them in hot pursuit. It is going to be quite high octane stuff. We filmed it in Scarborough over four nights on location."

It is a massive stunt and it is pretty big stuff. Are you pleased with the exit Gennie gets?
"I am. I gave my notice in a long time ago in order to make sure she got a fitting exit and a nice, memorable goodbye. We definitely got that."

Are you excited about the future away from Emmerdale?
"Yes I am. At the moment I am doing a lot of crying and saying goodbye to people so my excitement for the future is being put aside for the weeks of goodbyes and emotion. But I am excited for the future."

Can only hope she doesn't give the game away when she catches them and doesn't say anything to them about recording them, then after the crash Cameron doesn't know about the dictaphone and the cops find it.

Emmerdale star Sian Reese-Williams has admitted that she couldn't stop crying after watching her character's exit scenes.

Gennie Sharma's life will hang in the balance later this week after she is involved in a car crash following the discovery of Cameron's dark secret.

Speaking to The Sun, Reese-Williams said: "It's a bit surreal really. It was really emotional and hard to watch.

"Of course it's not me dying, but it's a part of me. I've spent more time being her than being myself during the past five years.

"Gennie was so annoying but I was crying saying goodbye to her. I loved her because I spent so much time in her head."

Resse-Williams also revealed that she was scared when she discovered the details of her exit storyline.

The actress said: "When I found out that I was going to be killed off I was scared to start with. It made my decision that bit more final - there was no going back.

"But now I am happy because it really is an amazing way to go. I wouldn't have wanted to leave in the back of a cab."

Emmerdale airs Gennie's car crash on Thursday, July 25 at 7pm and 8pm on ITV.
