Coming up in EastEnders, Joey Branning's ongoing feud with dad Derek hits new heights during the launch of Ray Dixon's youth boxing scheme.

Joey (David Witts) is pleased to see Derek alienated from his family even further in the coming days, as Alice is the latest Branning to fall out with him when he tries to stop her from continuing with self-defence classes.

During Ray's launch, Derek (Jamie Foreman) warns Joey not to get too smug as Alice will always come running back to him no matter what he does. However, Joey is fed up with Derek's controlling ways and decides to play him at his own game.

While Ray is busy talking to journalists about his work with the local community, there is suddenly a crash from the locker room before Joey staggers out with blood pouring from his nose.

Max, Jack, Lauren and Alice look on with disbelief as they believe that Derek has attacked his son, but he insists that Joey did it himself with the locker door. Derek is telling the truth, but nobody believes a word he has to say…

Max still needs Derek's financial help to deal with his 'problem', so he gives into his controlling brother's demands and asks Joey to move out. However, Max is disappointed that he is having to be bossed around by Derek and soon comes up with another way to raise the cash, approaching Phil with a plan to have Billy flog a car in Southend on their behalf. After securing the cash this way, Max stands up to Derek and informs him that he won't be kicking Joey out after all.

At the same time, still believing that Joey will soon be sent packing, Lauren helps her cousin find a new place to live. She confesses to Joey that she spends a lot of her time drawing, and he is intrigued to find numerous portraits of him. The pair share a tender moment and are unable to fight the sexual tension between them any longer, so they fall into each other's arms…

Meanwhile, still reeling from the revelation that her sister Ava is still alive, Tanya has spent the night searching for information on her. She finally manages to find an 'Ava Hartman' on the internet whose date of birth matches that of her sister. Tanya then informs a shocked Patrick that she plans to visit Ava, having discovered where she works.

Elsewhere, Phil's solicitor Ritchie informs him that Alexa has dropped the assault charges against Lola, which means she will be able to get Lexi back. However, Phil is still determined to take care of Lexi himself. Max's car deal provides the perfect opportunity to have Billy disappear for a short while, and it's decided that Lola will move in with Phil while he is away. Phil is looking forward to being fully responsible for Lexi, but Trish soon arrives with the news that Lexi will be staying in temporary care until the neglect case is over.

Also today, Poppy gives Fatboy some advice on how to chat up a local girl named Sylvia, but she soon realises that she is falling for Fatboy herself.

    Tuesday

Patrick urges Tanya not to go ahead with her plan to meet Ava, pointing out that it's not what Cora would want. When Tanya refuses to listen to his advice, Patrick resolves to join her on the visit to the school where Ava works. When the pair arrive, Tanya pretends to be enquiring about Oscar possibly joining the school. She hopes to find the right moment to tell Ava the truth, but she ultimately panics and runs out without revealing the real reason she came.

Outside, Tanya tells Patrick that she is struggling to understand Cora's reasons for giving up her own child. However, Patrick explains that Ava was born in a very different time, and the fact that she was the illegitimate daughter of a mixed race couple would have been seen as a huge transgression. Tanya agrees it may be for the best to leave the past where it belongs, but once they have gone, Ava finds Tanya's purse which she left behind accidentally…

Meanwhile, Lauren is ashamed after giving into her feelings for Joey, so she orders him to leave Walford. However, Lauren soon realises that she doesn't want to be without Joey and admits that she does care about him. The pair end up kissing passionately in an alley-way, but they have a near-miss when Derek walks by and almost catches them together.

Elsewhere, Derek thinks that Alice's self-defence classes are unladylike, so he asks Ray and Jack to discourage her from taking part. However, the pair refuse and Alice is furious when she hears that Derek has been meddling. When Alice confronts him, Derek falsely claims that Ray thinks she has a crush on him and wants her to quit training with him.

Also today, Fatboy is rejected by Sylvia, while Poppy is unenthusiastic when she hears that her sister Tansy will be paying a visit tomorrow.

    Thursday

Still coming to terms with recent revelations, Tanya decides to spend some quality time with Cora. As they bake a cake for the upcoming wedding, the pair are soon joined by Kim and Denise who spend the afternoon with them.

Once the Fox sisters have left, Tanya pops out to grab a bottle of wine. While she is out, Ava suddenly appears on the doorstep to return Tanya's purse. Not realising who Ava is, Cora shows her gratitude by inviting her in for a cuppa, explaining that Tanya can thank her in person when she arrives back. When Tanya does return, it's just as Ava is introducing herself properly. Tanya is horrified by the results of her meddling, while the shocking truth dawns on Cora…

Meanwhile, a furious Alice realises that Derek lied to her yesterday when she speaks to Ray about his claims. Joey watches on as Alice confronts her dad over his latest antics and refuses to accept his apology. Later, after finishing his round in the ring at the launch of Ray's youth boxing scheme, Joey ends up in another row with Derek. As Ray talks to journalists about his scheme, there is a sudden crash and Joey staggers from the locker room with blood pouring from his nose.

As Max, Jack, Lauren and Alice look on in shock, Derek denies punching Joey and insists that he did it himself with the locker door. However, it's the final straw for Alice and she decides that she doesn't want to live with Derek any longer. Soon afterwards, Joey and Lauren sneak off to the car lot office, and as they share more kisses, they're completely unaware that a horrified Derek is watching them from afar…

Elsewhere, Poppy is fearful over Tansy's arrival as she has told a number of lies about how wonderful her life is, and the truth is bound to be revealed. When Fatboy goes to extreme lengths to help Poppy by posing as her wealthy boyfriend in front of Tansy, she is overwhelmed by the extent of his support and later rewards him with a kiss.

    Friday

oey continues urging Alice to see that Derek is dangerous and that she should leave before he turns violent with her too. Alice agrees to move back in with their mum, but Joey confesses to Lauren in private that he actually punched himself in an attempt to set up Derek. Soon afterwards, Derek confronts Lauren at the gym and reveals that he knows about her relationship with Joey. He orders her to get Joey to meet him at the car lot in an hour's time, otherwise he will expose them.

Lauren's efforts to track down Joey lead her to The Vic, where she finds herself in an argument with Lucy and Whitney when they badmouth Joey. When Joey arrives, he pulls the girls apart, but Lucy orders Lauren to choose between Joey and them. Lauren immediately chooses Joey before pulling him aside to reveal Derek's threats. The pair realise that their best option would be to leave Walford.

Putting a drastic plan into action, Joey steals Derek's car so that he and Lauren can flee. They drive past the car lot and Joey shouts abuse at Derek before they speed off into the night. As the journey continues, the pair have a playful squabble over the radio and Lauren takes her eye off the road for a moment. Lauren's moment of distraction means that she has to swerve to avoid a parked car, and she soon loses control of the vehicle. As a result, Lauren and Joey end up crashing into a shop window…

Meanwhile, Cora rushes home after coming face-to-face with Ava. She isn't best pleased when Patrick reveals that he helped Tanya to find Ava, but when Cora calms down, she finally tells the full story of Ava's background. Cora explains that Ava's father had deserted her before she found out she was pregnant, while her parents later forced her to put Ava up for adoption because they were ashamed.

Realising she'll have to face up to the situation, Cora goes to see Ava and explains that she has always avoided tracking her down because she didn't want to rake up the past. Cora explains that she still feels the same way and wants Ava to leave, but her grief overwhelms her once Ava has gone.

Friendship seems to be blossoming into romance for Poppy Meadow and Arthur 'Fatboy' Chubb on EastEnders next week as they share a kiss at the Queen Vic.

The pair grow closer when Fatboy shows how much he cares for Poppy, going to extreme lengths to help her out after her sister Tansy pays a visit to Walford.

Poppy (Rachel Bright) is nervous about spending time with her successful sibling, as she has tried to match up by telling numerous lies about how wonderful her own life is - claiming to manage her own salon and live in a penthouse apartment.

Although Poppy is fearful that the truth is bound to be revealed, Fatboy (Ricky Norwood) goes along with her claims by dressing in a suit and posing as her rich boyfriend in front of Tansy. Even Lucy Beale and Whitney Dean get in on the act by pretending to be Poppy's staff at the salon.

Although Tansy (Daisy Wood-Davis) isn't exactly convinced by the charade as time goes on, she can tell how much Fatboy cares for Poppy and points this out to her sister.

Poppy is also taken aback by how much effort Fatboy has gone to, so she later rewards him with a kiss at the pub… Will this develop into a full-blown relationship?
