The X Factor 2011 judging panel - Gary Barlow, Kelly Rowland, Tulisa Contostavlos and Louis Walsh - all want to return to the ITV reality show next year.
When asked about the 2012 series, all four claimed that they wanted to be back on the panel again.
Defending criticism that this year's judges hadn't matched previous series of the show, Walsh commented: "We're only as good as the talent that walks through the door. We all work really hard. We always do."
He added later: "It's all about this year at the moment. We know absolutely nothing [about 2012]."
Later, the judges also appeared unclear as to whether Simon Cowell would be making an appearance across the four-hour final this weekend.
"We know Simon watches the show every week, but I think he's concentrating on the US show more than this one at the moment," said Walsh. Barlow commented: "I don't think he is [coming]."
Rowland also claimed that Cowell wouldn't be shy about criticising the judges if their acts weren't up to scratch: "If Simon wants us to know something, trust us, he'll let us know."
The X Factor final kicks off on Saturday (December 10) at 8pm on ITV1. Marcus Collins, Amelia Lily and Little Mix are fighting it out for the chance to land a Syco record contract and a Christmas single.
Goldie Cheung will return for a performance on the X Factor final this weekend.
Cheung, who was in the original Top 16 acts for the live shows, will star in a group performance, according to The Sun.
The 49-year-old Tai Chi instructor will replace Frankie Cocozza as the final 16 unite for a medley of pop hits including Rihanna's 'We Found Love' and Lady GaGa's 'Edge of Glory'.
Cheung withdrew from The X Factor before the live shows, despite being picked to be part of Louis Walsh's final four acts at Judges' Houses. In an official statement, the singer claimed that she could not participate in the show any longer because she would miss her family too much.

The boss is back as Si has the final word
MUSIC mogul Simon Cowell is set to bring the X Factor back to the show - as he plans to make his presence felt in this year's final.
The talent show king - who is busy judging the US version in Los Angeles - is rumoured to be popping up at Wembley Arena live during Saturday's show.
Simon, 52 - who hit the roof earlier this year after the X Factor descended into meltdown as it lost more than two million viewers - is said to be ready to comment during or after the final.
Judge Louis Walsh told a newspaper today he would be delighted if Simon made a return to the panel in the next series.
He said: "I am going to be honest, without him there on the live shows it's not the same.
"It's like a big ship with no captain. He's got a great instinct and he tweaks everything."
It is not the first time Simon has used Skype during this year's show.
He summoned all the wannabes in November for an online chat - before telling them: "I want you to be divas".

Details of the song choices for The X Factor final have emerged.
Marcus Collins will perform OutKast hit 'Hey Ya!' on a jumbo jet stage prop, while Little Mix will enter Wembley Arena on Harley-Davidson motorbikes and sing 'You Got The Love'.
The band will perform in front of a giant screen showing animated female soldiers - said to resemble Cheryl Cole - doing mentor Tulisa Contostavlos's famous arm salute.
Meanwhile, Amelia Lily will take on Christina Aguilera's 'Ain't No Other Man' and Mariah Carey's 'All I Want For Christmas Is You', after becoming unhappy with her initial festive song choice of Wizzard's 'I Wish It Could Be Christmas Every Day'.
Lily will sing with just a group of backing dancers, leading to claims that mentor Kelly Rowland, who is reported not to be fussed whether her act wins, has let her down by failing to secure more impressive props.
"Amelia looks at a distinct disadvantage for the final," a source told The Sun. "Marcus and Little Mix have gone all out and raided the production budget for their props.
"Kelly could have secured something extravagant for Amelia but she just wants her to go out there and sing. It's a high-risk strategy as what you're looking for is a memorable performance that will make people pick up the phone."
Speaking of his performance, Collins said: "The plane wasn't my idea but I'm thrilled with it."
Meanwhile, Little Mix star Perrie Edwards said: "We have lots of input in what we do, so we thought this would be a cool idea. Bombing around on the back of the motorbikes we're thinking 'yes, this is a good idea'."
It was previously reported that the X Factor finalists will duet with their mentors at the final.
Lily and Rowland will sing Tina Turner's 'River Deep, Mountain High', while Little Mix and Contostavlos will perform a medley of Alicia Keys' 'If I Ain't Got You' and 'Empire State Of Mind'. Collins and mentor Gary Barlow will sing 'She's Always a Woman' by Billy Joel.
X Factor judge Louis Walsh has admitted having a hair transplant, it has emerged.
According to the Mirror, the Irish music manager opted for the operation - which costs a reported £30,000 - after show boss Simon Cowell taunted him over his hair loss.
The procedure is said to have involved taking hair from the back of his head and implanting it in places where it was thinning.
Walsh, 59, described it as "maintenance".
He is quoted by the newspaper as saying: "It's not a wig or a syrup of figs or an Irish jig.
"It's just me with my own hair, feeling better.
"It's like going to the doctor and getting something done to your heart before it goes."
Millions are expected to tune into the X Factor final this weekend, but fans may not notice the results of the transplant immediately.
Walsh says it will take about a year before the transplanted hair comes through fully.
He reportedly decided to go public after stars including Wayne Rooney, actor James Nesbitt and Dancing On Ice judge Jason Gardiner all confessed to having the treatment.
4 hours of x factor this week. I hope little mix wins though
The X Factor final is too close to call, according to bookies.
Girl group Little Mix are narrowly ahead and and could make X Factor history if they become the first group to win the hit ITV1 talent show.
But bookies are reporting a flurry of bets on Marcus Collins, who could cash in on the popularity of his mentor, Gary Barlow, when they perform a duet tomorrow night.
William Hill cut the odds on the young Liverpudlian from 5/2 to 2/1 when it was confirmed that all the acts would duet with their mentors at Wembley Arena.
Spokesman Rupert Adams said: "The duet has played into Marcus's hands - he now has the momentum and it would be no great surprise if he goes on to win this."
The bookmakers put Little Mix at 5/4 to win, while comeback kid Amelia Lily is 5/2.
Even the show's host, Dermot O'Leary, admitted it is impossible to pick a winner.
He said: "It's my first year when we're going into the final and we don't really know who the favourite is."
One act will be kicked off the show tomorrow, leaving the final two to fight it out on Sunday, but all three acts have already recorded a version of the same song, widely expected to be a cover of Damian Rice's Cannonball, due to be released by the winner in time for Christmas.

The X Factor is to be investigated over allegations that unpaid interns have been employed to work on the show full-time.
HM Revenue & Customs confirmed that it has received information from careers advice service Graduate Fog suggesting that young people on work experience have been put to work in the styling department.
It has been alleged that four interns had been working as fashion assistants for the last three months, with more occasionally recruited for the live shows.
"We welcome HMRC's move to investigate The X Factor," Graduate Fog founder Tanya de Grunwald told The Guardian. "With record youth unemployment, the spread of this illegal practise is a big and emotive issue for young people. Unpaid labour is not the solution to youth unemployment, it is a big part of the problem."
Although there is no suggestion that Simon Cowell is aware of the alleged issue, de Grunwald declared: "If The X Factor is found to have broken the law, we would like him to issue a public apology, so that other big businesses will get the message loud and clear that it is not okay to take advantage of their young staff."
X Factor producers Talkback Thames said that they were unaware of work experience personnel assisting show stylist Laury Smith, though they clarified that "her interns are not X Factor interns".
A statement insisted: "Talkback Thames does not use free interns. We have a strict policy on all of our shows where we always pay people except when they are doing genuine, short-term work experience and are not actually performing any work or it's a formal school or college placement.
"Everyone else is paid. We were not aware that interns were being used by the stylist and we are looking into the matter."
The practice of employing unpaid interns is said to be rife within the media industry, and HM Revenue & Customs are planning to expose violations within production companies and the print media with unannounced inspections.
The X Factor final airs tonight (December 10) at 8pm on ITV1.
