Coming up in Emmerdale, the Sharma family are pushed to breaking point as bad boy Cain Dingle continues his campaign of terror against them.

Jai (Chris Bisson) becomes increasingly wary of Cain (Jeff Hordley) in the coming days when the wheel comes off Rishi's car while he is driving, causing him to crash. Fortunately, Rishi only suffers a minor injury but it later emerges that his wheel nuts had been loosened - and Jai is convinced that Cain was responsible.

Deciding that he doesn't want his family to be in any danger, Jai makes the shock decision to postpone his wedding to Charity - keen to pacify Cain for the time being.

Jai is soon left fuming when Priya (Fiona Wade) continues to show an interest in Cain despite everything he's done. When he gets home to find Priya and Cain together, Jai loses it and confronts his defiant sister once they're left alone.

As the siblings row, Jai grabs Priya and she falls. When Georgia, Rishi and Charity arrive back, they're alarmed to see the pair fighting - and Charity is appalled at what Cain has pushed Jai to.

MONDAY

Charity is stunned when Jai suggests that they should postpone the wedding, annoyed that Cain has got what he wants. Charity fumes with anger and turns on Cain - warning that if he doesn't back off, she will tell Debbie about Amy. However, Charity is horrified when Cain threatens that the Sharmas' run of bad luck could get much worse.

Later, Jai sees Cain in The Woolpack and warns him to keep away from him and his family. The reality of the situation hits home for Charity when she sees Cain making a gun firing gesture at Jai - it scares her. Back at home, Charity reluctantly agrees to call the wedding off, admitting to Jai that she is scared. Jai visits Cain to inform him of the decision - he realises that he's losing this one but warns that Cain will pay…

Meanwhile, Zak is concerned as Belle seems to get upset every time she sees Amy, but Belle insists there's nothing wrong. Amy worries that the game might be up when Zak comes into the shop, reminding her that they had an arrangement she would go to him if she was in trouble. Belle comes in and quietly assures Amy that she's said nothing.

Elsewhere, Katie wonders why she is still with Declan when he continues to shut her out, while Ali talks to Chas about Dan and the kids.


Tuesday

Declan refuses to tell Jai where he has laid Mia's ashes. When he is then dismissive with Katie, it leaves her determined to end things before she gets in too deep. Katie decides to tell Declan that she's feeling hurt he is so distant and that she gets nothing from him. Katie heads home, where Gennie thinks she's done the right thing by ending it.

Nikhil is just about to give his opinion when Declan knocks on the door. Katie is upset, explaining that she doesn't want to end up like Ella and that's why she's finishing it now. However, Katie is gobsmacked when Declan says that he doesn't want to lose her. Katie realises how serious he is when he drops the big question - will she marry him?


Meanwhile, Jai gets home to find Cain and Priya together. He tells Priya about cancelling the wedding as Cain kisses her before leaving. Jai tries to talk to his defiant sister and as they begin to row, Jai grabs Priya and she falls. Georgia, Rishi and Charity arrive, alarmed to see the pair fighting. Charity's appalled at what Cain has pushed Jai to.

Elsewhere, Pollard's doubtful when Val tries to convince him that adopting Amy is the right thing to do, while Chas is pleased but Hazel's thrown when Aaron announces that he's going on a course for a few weeks.


Wednesday

Zak tells Belle that he's worried about her and for a second it looks as if she might crack and confess her worries. Soon afterwards, Belle confronts Cain - telling him that he didn't think through the consequences of his actions. When Belle sees Amy's pleading looks, she covers by making out that she was talking about Moira rather than Amy.

Later, Amy is horrified to see the social worker's car outside the B&B, unaware that Val is having a consultation over her adoption idea. Amy quizzes Belle about what she's said, suspecting that is why the social worker has turned up. Amy soon starts experiencing painful twinges and her waters break. Hidden in the village cemetery, Amy panics as she grips her stomach…

Meanwhile, Cain tells Priya that Jai was out of order yesterday and needs to be taught a lesson. Soon afterwards, Jai is shocked as the police arrive and he is arrested for assault, eventually receiving a caution. Later, Charity finds Cain in the pub, where Zak has to stop her going for him. Charity tells Priya that he's using her and warns Cain that there will be payback.


Elsewhere, Chas takes a delivery of flowers for Katie and she and Gennie are shocked when Katie tells them about Declan's proposal; Val is gutted to be told that she can't adopt Amy as she's nearly 18 and it's a lengthy procedure; Bob's concerned for Hazel when she tries to cover her upset over Aaron going away on a course; while Declan presents Katie with a diamond ring and proposes again.


Thursday

Hour-long episode

A terrified Amy is alone and in labour at the cemetery. She tries to phone the midwife, but when the call goes to voicemail, she knows that she's going to have the baby there. After giving birth alone, Amy holds her silent baby in her arms and wraps the child in her coat. Unable to detect any breathing, Amy panics and carries the bundle to the gate. Scared that her baby is not alive, she carefully places the bundle in the phone box and flees.

Shortly afterwards, Hazel sees the phone box door open and is shocked to find the baby inside. Believing the child to be dead, she calls 999. However, it soon becomes apparent that the newborn is alive, so calls out to Zak and Lisa to help her. They are all hugely relieved when the baby cries out just as the ambulance arrives.


At the same time, Amy goes to David for help - telling him that she had a baby but fears it was stillborn. When they see the flashing lights outside, David rushes over to find out what's going on. He then returns, assuring Amy that her baby is still alive. While a tired Amy sleeps, David calls an ambulance before breaking the news to Val and Pollard, who are deeply shocked that Amy has given birth.

Meanwhile, Katie arrives at Home Farm, about to give Declan her answer to his proposal. However, Sam interrupts with a box of Mia's things and Declan is shaken. Katie offers to help open the box with him, but he abruptly declines. Katie leaves disappointed, leaving her ring box behind too.

Elsewhere, Debbie opens up to Charity over the situation with Andy and trying for a baby, while a devastated Moira makes a decision to move out

Friday

Amy is distraught that David has told Val and Pollard and doesn't believe him when he says they'll stand by her. At the hospital, Val and Pollard assume David is to blame and is the father of her baby. When Val and Pollard go in to see Amy, they're ashamed when she reveals that she thought they would kick her out. She lies about the father being a drunken mistake and worries if she'll be arrested for abandoning the baby.

At the same time, Zak is taken aback by Belle's reaction when they tell her about the baby, suspicious that she's hiding something. When Belle admits that the baby belongs to Amy, Lisa suspects that Belle might know who the father is. Eventually, Belle admits that it's Cain. Lisa comforts her as she tells them about Cain's threat to Amy…


Meanwhile, John is heartbroken as Moira leaves, explaining that she will stay with Diane until she gets sorted. Moira arrives outside the pub with her bags and admits to Marlon that she has left John. Moira is grateful for Marlon's kindness when he says that she can stay with him.

Elsewhere, Bob tells everyone in the pub that Hazel saved a baby's life; Victoria hides her suspicions when she hears about the baby; while Nicola wants to discuss having another baby with Jimmy but he's thinking about Elliot.

I hope the writers don't put Moira and Marlon together! I swear Marlon always gets every other man's sloppy seconds. Why can't the writers make Marlon happy for a change? Why does Marlon always have to chase after women that are unattainable?

It doesn't seem long at all.

uh, scratch the unfortunately. After the Ashley meltdown last week, I'm a bit more intrigued by the Marlon/Laurel storyline?? I think Bellamy and Middleton are doing some good acting.
