Coming up in Emmerdale, Charity Tate's turbulent love life returns to the forefront of the soap as Jai dumps her after learning that she was responsible for the mixed-up order at the factory.

Cain is in his element after the break-up and takes every opportunity he can to gloat, telling Charity that she might as well move back in. However, the blonde is determined that Jai is the man for her and privately vows that she won't give up so easily.

Keen to prove herself to Jai, Charity heads to the factory and declares her love for him - before shocking the businessman by asking him to marry her. However, she's left devastated when Jai turns her down, explaining that he needs to be with somebody he can trust.

Later, Cain is back to his old tricks as he barges in on Charity, urging her to admit that she loves him and not Jai. Charity responds briefly as he kisses her but soon pushes him away.

Following the latest twist in her love life, will Charity give up on her plan to win back Jai or can she persuade him to take her back?

Mon 29th


Declan invites Jai out clay shooting, but it's clear that he has an agenda for doing so. As they start their shooting, everything seems relaxed but soon the chat changes and Jai is caught out when Declan quizzes him about Ella.

Suddenly, Jai realises that Declan must know about his and Ella's one-night stand - before being utterly floored when Declan reveals who Mia's father is. As Declan is armed with a gun, Jai panics about what he will do next…

Meanwhile, believing Ella's lies about how she had been seeing Jai behind Charity's back, Cain passes the gossip on to Gennie - who lets it slip that Charity set up Nikhil to fail at the factory. Later, Cain is smug when he tells Charity that he's the only one who'll ever fully understand her. Charity realises she's blown it with Jai when Cain tells her that Jai would have done anything for her.

Elsewhere, Amy doesn't know which way to turn; Bob offers Hazel some hours in the café as the builders arrive to start work on Dale Head; while Laurel's touched by Ashley's gesture when he wants to take her out for tea and tries her best when he tells her that she deserves to be spoiled.


Tues 30th

Mia's taken aback by Declan's tone but accepts his offer of going to Nice to check out the new hotel. However, Dermot can see something's bothering Declan, prompting him to reveal that Jai is Mia's dad. Dermot's shocked at the news but also at Declan's determination. Declan is insisting that once Mia has gone, she has gone for good and he wants Dermot to look after her.

At the same time, Jai tells Nikhil that he is Mia's dad but doesn't want to talk more about it. Later, Jai visits Declan to find out what he's planning on doing and is saddened and shocked to learn that Declan wants to get rid of Mia from his life.

Meanwhile, Marlon and Laurel are spending lots of time together and Laurel suggests that Marlon should write a cookbook for the Down's syndrome group. However, Marlon is left wondering what's going on between them.

Elsewhere, Hazel is under strain as she tries to get on with things in her new job; Rachel asks Bob for a job in the café but he tells her that they've recruited Hazel; while Sam's wary of Rachel when she asks if she'll see him tomorrow as it's Amelia's birthday.

Wed 31st

Declan wants Dermot to go back to Ireland and take Mia with him. However, Mia's shocked and confused at this plan. Later, Mia says her goodbyes in the pub and is puzzled when Jai leaves after giving her a brief hug.

Nikhil tells Jai that he needs to think about himself and not let anyone tell him how to react. Jai arrives at Home Farm just as Mia's about to leave - will Jai get to tell her for himself?

Meanwhile, Rachel asks Sam whether he has any bright but cheap ideas for Amelia's birthday as she's bored hanging out at the café. Sam takes them to the Homestead and Amelia and Samson have fun chasing the hens in the yard. However, Sam feels out of his depth with Amelia's demands and is unnerved by her brother Sean.

Elsewhere, Bob wants Hazel to have something to look forward to, while Chas is exasperated by Charity's unwillingness to give up on Jai.

Thurs 1st

Cain gloats to Charity, suggesting that she and Noah should move back in. However, Charity declares that she'll never go crawling back to him. Later, Charity tells Chas that Jai's the only one she wants and heads to the pub to see him.

Determined to win him back, Charity asks Jai to meet her at Gennie's later but he doesn't turn up. Not giving up without a fight, Charity heads to the factory and declares her love to him, asking him to marry her…

Meanwhile, Hazel's touched when Bob offers to lend her the money to go travelling, leaving Brenda unimpressed. Frustrated with Brenda's moaning, Hazel quits her job and takes Bob up on his offer, excited at the prospect of going away.

Elsewhere, Nikhil offends Gennie again by suggesting that she doesn't care how she looks and knows nothing about fitness; Debbie's troubled when Cameron tells her that Sarah has another bruise; while Declan asks Nicola to dig out the Butler's contract, telling her that he'll be more reliant on her now Mia has gone.

Charity is devastated when Jai turns her down, saying that he needs someone he can trust. Afterwards, Charity exits the office and tells the factory girls that it was her who messed up the order, leaving Jai conflicted. Later, Cain barges in on Charity, insisting that she loves him and not Jai. Charity responds briefly to his kiss before pushing him away and telling him to get out. Cain leaves, but he's pleased that he can still make an impact.

As the day continues, Chas sets Jai straight about Charity and he seems thoughtful. Jai visits Charity and after talking through his trust issues, it looks like he might be coming round. Charity then proposes again and is thrilled when Jai says yes.

Meanwhile, Declan shuns Nicola's opinion when she tells him that he can't use his row with Adam to back out of the deal with the Barton family. He then turns Katie away from Home Farm, leaving her wondering what is going on between them. Later, Katie shares her concerns with Chas, wondering why Declan is acting so strangely.

Elsewhere, Hazel tells Aaron that she's going away for a while and fights back tears as she goes; Alicia is concerned when Andy tells her that he wants to spend as much time with Sarah as possible; while David tries to make Nikhil see that Gennie is his type.

Fri 2nd

Debbie is nervous about Sarah's appointment and Sarah doesn't want to go. However, Cameron manages to convince her - much to Andy's annoyance. At the hospital, Dr Armah tells Andy and Debbie that they need to do some immediate tests to get an exact diagnosis. The gravity of Sarah's condition is starting to dawn on them.

Back at the house, an argument erupts between Andy, Debbie and Cameron. Andy believes the genetic condition must be from Debbie's side. Debbie tries to defend it and later breaks down in tears.

Meanwhile, Nikhil discovers that Jai and Charity are back together and that she has moved back into Holdgate. Nikhil's speechless that they're engaged and shocked to see her wearing their grandma's ring.

Elsewhere, Cain's angry over news of the engagement and stresses that there won't be a wedding; Zak offers to help Chas with Aaron; while Gennie's and Nikhil's business lunch is cut short.
