Jason Sudeikis has said that he is "flattered" to have been asked to present the 2011 MTV Movie Awards.
Earlier today, the network confirmed that the Saturday Night Live star would front its celebration of the best films of the year, which is marking its 20th anniversary on June 5.
Speaking to MTV News, Sudeikis said: "I'm sincerely flattered that the folks from the Mostly Teenage Viewers network have invited me to host this year, and I look forward to keeping the streak of flawless and critically lauded movie awards show hosting in 2011 alive."
MTV president Stephen Friedman added: "Smart and funny is the new rock and roll for our audience - and that combo pretty much sums up Jason. He is a smartass and a gentleman who never goes for the easy or obvious joke."
Nominees for the ceremony will be announced on May 3, with voting open until June 4 for all categories other than 'Best Movie', which viewers can vote for until the day of the event.
