EASTENDERS' Lacey Turner will walk out of Walford at Christmas - as her real-life sis walks IN to the soap.
Lily Harvey, who is nine, starts filming in January and hits screens in March.

She will star as cheeky youngster Shenice, daughter of Kat Moon's new pal Martine, who will be played by newcomer Tamara Wall.

And Lacey, 22 - who has played Stacey Branning since 2004 - is said to be "thrilled" about Lily's role.

A source said: "She loved growing up on set and is happy to still have links. She'll give Lily lots of advice and has made the older stars promise to look out for her. Lily takes after Lacey, she's a star in the making."

Lily had to audition for the part despite the family connection. She lives with Lacey, sister Daisy and mum Bev in Radlett, Herts.

They will all be together at home for Christmas. Lacey said: "I love it because Lily still gets all excited. She keeps it alive in our house."

Lacey Turner's younger sister landed a part on EastEnders before the production staff were aware of their connection, according to reports.

Earlier today, it was revealed that 9-year-old Lily Harvey had been contracted for a role in the London-based soap from January until March.

EastEnders producer Brian Kirkwood told the Lancashire Evening Post that the decision was taken to hire Lily Harvey on the strength of her audition tape, prior to any relationship between the actresses being known.

He explained: "The truth of it is I didn't know she was Lacey's sister until after I said she was the girl I wanted to cast.

"Whether by accident or design I sat down and watched a tape of a very talented young girl and it was only after we decided that I was told it was Lacey's sister. So it was complete accident."

Lily Harvey begins filming in January as Shenice, the daughter of Kat Moon's friend Martine.

Harry Hill has revealed that he is related to EastEnders newcomer Tamara Wall.

Last month, it emerged that Wall had been cast in the role of Martine, a new friend for grief-stricken Kat Moon (Jessie Wallace).

According to The Sun today, Wall refers to TV Burp star Hill as her "uncle Harry" - even though their relation is more loose.

Hill explained: "I'm really thrilled that my mum's cousin's daughter is going to be in EastEnders. Hopefully she'll put in a good word for me and I'll be in the Square soon."

The character of Martine will appear on screen alongside her "cheeky" daughter Shenice, played by Lacey Turner's 9-year-old sister Lily Harvey.

Here's a glimpse of EastEnders' new mother-and-daughter duo Martina and Shenice, who make their Albert Square debut in next week's episodes as they descend on the Queen Vic unexpectedly.

Martina is an old friend of Kat Moon's from her time in Spain, but there's some bad blood between the pair because Martina was the person who reported Kat and Alfie to the police for their dodgy dealings abroad.

Following her arrival, Martina reveals that she felt pressured into grassing up the couple after the police smashed up her bar - leaving her worried that the authorities could go one step further and take Shenice away from her if she didn't reveal the truth.

Fortunately for Martina, Kat is in a forgiving mood and she soon lets her old mate back into her confidence - explaining her recent devastation over Tommy and the impact that it's had on her.

Keen to be a good friend, Martina invites Kat out and asks Alfie to look after Shenice while they're gone. Later, Martina admits that she's having some problems and needs a place to stay - and where better than The Vic?

As Martina and Shenice become a regular fixture of life at the pub in the following days, will having a youngster around brighten up Kat and Alfie's lives or merely prove a painful reminder of what could have been?

Martina is played by Tamara Wall and Shenice is portrayed by Lily Harvey, sister of former Walford actress Lacey Turner.
