2941: Carmel prepares to report Theresa

New mum Theresa is prevented from comforting her daughter as Carmel gets in first. Soon afterwards, Myra is shocked to learn that Carmel is still planning on shopping Theresa to the police.

With no idea of how to fix the crisis that is engulfing her family, Myra ends up going to estranged daughter Jacqui for help.

Meanwhile, Malachy and Lynsey's relationship is in tatters as Lynsey declares that they're finished for good.

Elsewhere, Amy grills Ste about his revelation that he's gay. She tries to get her head around it and asks who his mystery lover is, but Ste won't give anything away.


2942: Amy sees Ste and Brendan kissing

Amy wants to know when she's going to meet Ste's mystery man and she can't help but notice how matey Ste and Brendan are together. Thinking they're alone in the club, Brendan surprises Ste by leaning in for a kiss, before suddenly breaking it off, aware that someone is around.

Brendan is far from impressed when Amy reveals that she saw them kissing. Later, Brendan lets out his frustration at Amy's discovery by hitting Ste hard in the stomach.

Meanwhile, when Theresa learns that she can go home, Carmel reminds her of her impending prison sentence. Jacqui and Myra try and talk sense into Carmel and explain that if she shops Theresa to the police, the baby will go into care.

Elsewhere, Fern warns Jasmine to keep quiet about the stabbing, or she'll reveal her secret identity as Jason. Later, Fern shows up again and proudly produces video footage of Jason and Bart at the scene of Bart's stabbing.


2943: Amy makes another discovery

Ste lies to Amy that his bruised ribs were caused by a punter in Chez Chez, but is frustrated when she won't let it go. But when Brendan's story about how Ste hurt himself doesn't tally up, Amy's left suspicious.

Ste tries to cover up the fact that Brendan's been violent towards him, but when Amy walks in as Brendan angrily grabs Ste's face, will Amy discover the truth?

Meanwhile, Nancy's horrified to discover that her article about Mitzeee has been edited unfavourably by the newspaper. Later, Brendan is forced to intervene when Nancy and Mitzeee go head-to-head in the village. But Mitzeee quickly sets about trying to turn the publicity to her advantage.

Elsewhere, Steph finds out about Lee's love life dilemma, and Jasmine is horrified to discover pictures of 'Jason' plastered all over the village as part of the police inquiry into Bart's stabbing.


2944: Jasmine clashes with Fern

Meanwhile, Amy threatens to tell the world that Brendan is beating Ste up unless Ste ends the relationship today. Ste tells Cheryl he's quitting Chez Chez, leaving Brendan bristling with annoyance.

Elsewhere, Elliot learns the truth about Kevin's background, and as Amy plucks up the courage to question Lee's true feelings for her, they're interrupted by a furious Leanne.


2945: Taylor decides to expose Phil's secret

Phil begs Gabby to take him back, but the threat of her telling his second family about them swiftly ends any chance of reconciliation. As a result, Taylor is left furious that his father would protect his second family over them.

While a rejected Amber's stuck at home with Amy for a babysitter, Taylor goes to his dad's second family's house, intent on telling them the truth about Phil.

Brendan's frustrated when he can't get hold of Ste and realises Amy must have told him about yesterday. He threatens her, and poor Amy's left terrified. Brendan tracks down Ste but struggles to convince him he didn't mean any harm. Who will Ste believe and how far will Brendan go to win him over?

It's the big opening of The Dog after Alphonse's refurbishment, and Duncan and Seth have their hearts set on some celebrity spotting. Seth winds up Duncan into thinking Alphonse fancies him, leading Duncan to get into an awkward situation.

Hollyoaks star Gemma Merna has revealed details of the latest drama ahead for her character Carmel McQueen, who is about to issue her cousin Theresa with a shocking ultimatum over her baby daughter Angel.

Last night, viewers saw Theresa (Jorgie Porter) give birth to her first child in the final episode of Hollyoaks Later. However, she was soon left distraught when Carmel turned up and vowed to go through with her plan to report her to the police over Calvin's death.

Next week, there is another twist in store as a thoughtful Carmel offers the waitress a lifeline, explaining that she will keep quiet over what she knows as long as Theresa lets her keep the baby for herself.

Speaking to Soaplife about Carmel's ultimatum, Merna explained: "In Carmel's mind, the baby is hers. It's Calvin's baby, therefore it is her baby because they were supposed to be the ones who were going to have a child together."

The actress added: "She's really angry and wants to make Theresa pay for ruining her life. But she also dearly wants to bring the baby up.

"She believes she can give Angel a better life than Theresa, who's young and still wants to go out and have fun."

Merna also hinted that there will be further turmoil in store in the weeks to come, predicting that Carmel's plan is "bound to unravel".

Hollyoaks star Jennifer Metcalfe has admitted that her character Mercedes Fisher behaved in a "disgusting" manner in the soap's recent run of late-night episodes.

This year's series of Hollyoaks Later, which concluded on E4 last night, saw Mercedes falsely claim that she had HIV in a bid to destroy her estranged husband Malachy's (Glen Wallace) new relationship with Lynsey Nolan (Karen Hassen).

As events reached a climax in yesterday's episode of the spinoff show, Malachy finally discovered that Mercedes was lying - before hitting her as he struggled to control his temper.

Speaking to All About Soap about how Mercedes will react to the moment of violence, Metcalfe explained: "She thinks she deserved it, and I think so too! She was awful in the late-night episodes - the lies she told were just disgusting. She doesn't resent Malachy for hitting her at all."

Asked whether Mercedes still loves Malachy, the actress replied: "She does, but she just can't keep her hands off other men! She also doesn't want anyone else to have him, and seeing him with Lynsey gets to her - she's jealous. It's typical Mercedes, always wanting what she can't have."

Mercedes and Malachy split on screen in the summer.
