Phil vows to keep Louise by his side
Airs on Thursday, July 29 2010 19:30 BST on BBC One

Mercy, Fatboy, Jack, Max, Darren and Minty play a game of rounders in the Square gardens with Liam. The ball soon flies into Patrick's backyard and when Liam runs to collect it, he hears Libby shouting. As Darren's about to score a rounder, Jodie stops him in his tracks. The pair talk about their relationship, before heading back to play.

Across the street, Jodie hears a muffled scream and a smashing vase from Patrick's house. Rushing to Darren's side, Jodie recounts what she heard and Darren agrees to check on Libby shortly. Insisting that he wants to be more than just friends with Jodie, Darren kisses her. Abi watches on in frustration.

Meanwhile, Peggy and Phil are evasive when Louise questions the visit from Social Services. As Louise storms off, Peggy insists that they need to come clean with Louise but Phil's firm - he wants to handle it his way. Later, a curious Louise tentatively asks her father if she's going back into care but he reassures her that she's going nowhere.

Wanting to ensure he does everything in his power to keep his promise, Phil calls the family lawyer Richie Scott.

Peggy discovers that The Vic's for sale
Airs on Friday, July 30 2010 20:00 BST on BBC One

As Peggy makes sandwiches and fairy cakes for Ben in The Vic, Phil arrives and reveals that he's taking Louise with them on the visit. Peggy's not happy with the arrangement but expresses her understanding at him wanting Louise by his side at all times. Later, though, Phil's furious to learn that Peggy's asked Shirley to babysit Louise while they're visiting Ben. At the detention centre, a bruised and battered Ben emerges, much to Peggy's horror. With that, Peggy stomps across the room and confronts Cal, the boy responsible. Through the commotion, Ben slips away back to his room. Phil, however, worries that Ben will return home a different boy to the one that went in.

Peggy insists that they can all move back into The Vic with her but returning to the Square, she's gobsmacked to find a 'For Sale' sign hanging off the side of the pub.

Meanwhile, Dot asks Fatboy to wait around for the glazier to fix the broken window. Heading over to the Launderette to see Heather, Dot suggests that she's going to contact the vicar to start arranging baby George's Christening.

Elsewhere, Max winds Darren up about Jodie and their apparent lack of a sex life; Liz continues to torture herself by looking at the place Owen was found in the centre of the Square; Darren and Jodie go for a picnic, where Jodie strips to her bikini; Liz reveals to Dot that she's burying Owen the following day; Darren takes his top off and Jodie rubs sun cream on him; Liz places a flower on Owen's makeshift grave, and Darren finds himself over-excited as Jodie continues to lather him in sunscreen.

Darren's devastated as Jodie dumps him
Airs on Monday, July 26 2010 20:00 BST on BBC One

Emotions are still running high at Patrick's following Denise's funeral as they stare at the string of sympathy cards. Chelsea's eager to start sorting through her mother's belongings but Libby's adamant that it's too early, before the row escalates with Libby accusing Chelsea of being a vulture. At Bible Class, Lucas struggles to maintain his composure as Grace recites a verse which resonates with his conscience - it's about everything he's done wrong. Clearly agitated, Lucas suggests that they move on to another passage.

Meanwhile, Darren's perplexed as to why Jodie ran out on him and seeks reassurance from Max that everything looks okay 'downstairs'. As Abi doodles the word 'Darren' in her diary, Max follows Jodie into The Vic and lets her know just how rude she was to Darren back at the house. Across the Square, Abi comforts a downbeat Darren but Abi's 'moment' is interrupted by the doorbell. Rushing to the front door, Darren's delighted to see Jodie. The pair awkwardly attempt to talk about what happened but she soon reveals the reason behind her reaction - he's not Jewish enough.

Fighting back the tears, Jodie admits that even though she's not truly religious, she can't be with him.

Elsewhere, Peggy's furious to hear about Glenda's plans to open a new boutique with Ronnie and Roxy; unhappy with Bianca's tone, Pat refuses to childmind; Pat's furious with the state of her house; Pat and Peggy vent to each other about their family problems over a bottle of wine and tequila; Bianca apologises to Pat and blames Ricky for her agitated attitude; Pat reveals to Bianca that she's going to live with Peggy for a while; and Bianca accuses Pat of being selfish.

    NEW SPOILERS

Denise is determined to stay strong
Airs on Monday, July 26 2010 20:00 BST on BBC One

In the cellar, Lucas has provided Denise with a Bible, mattress, photos of their family and some tinned food. Lucas acts as if he has done nothing wrong by imprisoning Denise and uses the Bible to justify his actions. Denise asks if Lucas is going to kill her and appears determined to stay strong against him, saying that he has twisted the Bible to fit his own beliefs and actions and that she cannot believe she used to love him. This shakes Lucas, making Denise feel a twinge of pity for him and he turns to leave.

Later, to Denise's surprise, Lucas returns to the cellar looking rattled. He asks if she really meant it when she said she used to love him, and Denise replies that she did. It's clear that Lucas is on the edge of a breakdown, his beliefs crumbling as he realises what he has done.

Pat has had enough of Bianca's tone and being taken advantage of so she refuses to baby sit.

Denise tries to escape from Lucas
Airs on Tuesday, July 27 2010 19:30 BST on BBC One

In the cellar, Denise lies on the mattress with Lucas asleep next to her. Lucas wakes up to find Denise going through his pockets and she immediately demands the keys from him. He says that she can have them after they have talked properly. Denise then quizzes Lucas about the murders he has committed. Lucas talks about the girl he killed that reminded him of Denise so he dumped her in the canal with Denise's phone to make people think that she had committed suicide. He explains that he could have saved Trina but letting her die made him feel powerful, and he killed Owen to protect his family. He reveals that the children think she killed Trina and that was her reason for committing suicide.

Lucas then claims he wants to move abroad and start afresh, but Denise tells him that he must face up to his actions. He suggests that there is another way to be together forever if they commit suicide together. Shocked, Denise rejects the idea and carries on looking for the keys. Later, Denise finds Lucas's phone and dials 999, but he leaps towards her and crushes the phone. She squares up to him, which makes him break down in tears.

It's Libby's birthday and Liz arrives at the house with a birthday cake and a present. Libby unwraps the gift and is delighted to find a photo of her father Owen. Chelsea hands her card over, before Patrick hands his present over, which reads 'to my grandchild'. Libby's emotional to find a silver locket with a photo of her and Denise.

Later, Denise works out how to get out of the flat and heads up the stairs and into a hallway, soon realising that the place looks familiar. Denise emerges into the daylight and cannot believe that she has been imprisoned next door to her own house for four weeks! She realises the bunch of keys also holds a key to her front door. She can hear Chelsea and Patrick singing happy birthday inside. She turns the keys in the lock…

Meanwhile, Max is curious to know why Darren's been using his computer and when he delves into the browsing history, he finds websites about circumcision. When confronted, Darren protests that he's considering the procedure for Jodie. Max, however, explains how it's a step too far for anyone and suggests that he end their relationship. Later, Abi's delighted to hear that Darren's found someone else he likes.

Phil and Peggy are shocked when they learn that Lisa Fowler wishes to resume her relationship with Louise, from the social worker.
Elsewhere, Phil's intrigued to see Louise looking on Ben's computer and snatches it from her angrily. Later, the phone rings and Phil's taken aback to hear Derek Evans from Social Services on the other end. Peggy's intrigued and insists that she's there as it's probably something to do with Louise. On Derek's arrival, they're shocked to learn that Louise's mother Lisa wants to make contact with her again. Phil, however, insists that Lisa's mentally unstable as she's abandoned Louise once already but Derek's firm - they have to look into the application.

    Denise's family discover she's alive
Airs on Thursday, July 29 2010 19:30 BST on BBC One

Denise hears her family celebrating Libby's birthday as she stands in Patrick's hallway. Spotting Denise, Libby drops in shock in the doorway, while Chelsea and Patrick follow her gaze and realise that Denise is alive. Denise sobs with joy, but Chelsea is furious and shouts that Denise is meant to be dead and is a murderer. Shocked, Denise tells her family that she didn't kill Owen, it was Lucas and he kidnapped her. Chelsea doesn't believe her until Lucas enters and confirms that it is true.

Libby lashes out at Lucas, who is eerily calm. Lucas guards the doorway and insists he did everything to protect his family. The phone then rings and Lucas disconnects it. Outside, Heather rings the doorbell and as Libby calls out for help, Lucas holds the phone wire at her throat. He tells Patrick to get the person at the door to go away or he will kill Libby. Patrick gets a chance to write a note to Heather saying "call police", but the notebook flips pages and she doesn't see Patrick's plea before she leaves. Lucas shuts the door and says that no-one is going anywhere. Libby is furious and speaks out - at which point, Lucas threatens them with a knife. However, Libby isn't scared of Lucas and verbally attacks him, prompting him to scream at her to shut up.

Having seen the TV crash through the window, Jordan rushes into the house. Patrick uses this chance to get everyone out, as Libby tells Jordan what his dad has done. Lucas tells Denise he'll always love her as they escape. They stumble out of the house and are greeted by shocked residents who help them and call the police. They realise Jordan is still in the house and Patrick explains what Lucas did and how dangerous he is. Inside the house, Lucas explains to Jordan what he's done. Jordan thinks Lucas can get help and get better, but as Lucas continues to reveal his secrets, Jordan is horrified. He leaves the house and rushes to Denise to be comforted. Lucas comes out and falls to his knees as the police approach and take him away. Denise and Lucas have one final moment of eye contact before he is driven off and Denise, overwhelmed, breaks down.

Louise asks Phil if he is sending her back into care.

Denise hopes to fix her broken family
Airs on Friday, July 30 2010 20:00 BST on BBC One

Sitting in a police cell, Lucas takes pages from the Bible to wipe blood from his fingertips before later giving it to a policeman and saying it's no use to him where he's going. Meanwhile, Denise is in a private room at the hospital and a newspaper reporter disguised as a doctor questions her. Upon hearing her name 'Mrs Johnson', Denise chokes back the tears and explains that she must change her name. Much to the reporter's delight, Denise admits that she wants to see Lucas so that she can show him what he's done to her.

At the salon, Chelsea confides in Roxy, saying that a few weeks ago she was part of a normal family and now it has all fallen apart. This strikes a cord with Roxy who used to think the same about her family. Chelsea is upset to think her own father is a murderer, but Roxy tries to reassure her, saying that you can't choose your family. When Chelsea returns home, she and Libby overhear Patrick telling Charlie that Lucas is the devil. Patrick explains that he feels deceived and is annoyed that he believed Lucas's lies, but Charlie says that he is not alone. Later, Libby shouts at Chelsea, saying that Lucas can't be a father anymore - at which point, Jordan emerges.

Zainab accompanies Patrick, Chelsea, Libby and Jordan as they visit Denise in hospital, where they're confronted by the reporter from earlier, now calling himself D.I Stevenson. He says that he needs to ask them some more questions, but Zainab is suspicious and confronts him. When the reporter cannot show an official hospital ID, Zainab grabs Chelsea, Jordan and Libby and pulls them away from him, while Patrick protests telling him to leave them alone. They make their way into Denise's private room, where Libby tries to probe her mother about what Lucas did to her, but she refuses to say in front of Jordan. Chelsea and Libby then argue about Lucas and as Chelsea storms out, Jordan goes to hit Denise. Denise looks at her broken family and later she tries to leave to go home to look after them.

Phil, however, worries that Ben will return home a different boy to the one that went in.

Jodie rubs sun cream onto Darren.

Denise is reunited with her family in EastEnders next week after finally managing to escape Lucas's clutches.

The Walford mum makes her bid for freedom following a heated confrontation with her captor, who is growing increasingly emotional as he deals with the weight of his sins.

Following her escape, Denise is stunned to discover that she has been imprisoned next door to her own house for four weeks and immediately decides to return home, where her family are celebrating Libby's birthday.

As Denise steps into Patrick's hallway, her loved ones are floored by her return - having believed that she was dead and a murderer.

After Denise explains everything, Lucas enters the room and a terrifying stand-off follows as the storyline reaches its climax...
