Quiet couple of days. I've managed to highlight two pages of holiday reading material and have written the draft of my exam essay...other than that been lazing around watching the telly!

This evening I gave a tenner to that dec haiti appeal. Somehow I got charged five times...(I think I may have pressed the back button...) Ah well. I feel a bit of an idiot but we live and learn. It would be churlish to ask for it back. Plus the student loan is coming in next week. Hooray.

On a different note earlier I was sprinkling chocolate sprinkles onto my microwaved banana (trust me, it tastes lush ) and I was about to eat it when I saw a maggot. Checked the sprinkles I saw two more wriggling in there! Glad I didn't eat that banana!
Peter: So how many are there? Is it bad? Olivia: Did you eat? Peter: Yeah. Olivia: Well, that's unfortunate.

Aw that's well good of you to give to the appeal. If I had money I would too.

    Cramming is the best method.

You must try it! I would bake the banana but microwaving is quicker. No-one believes me but it is lush with chocolate.

Ok, I shall try it, when mother next buys bananas, I'll get her to buy them Thursday. How long do you microwave the banana for? Does it need to be hot hot? Or warm?

I don't know what to do.. 2 of my friend and me applied for same job.. one of us got it and I was offered another position.. my friend is really upset she didn't get the job we applied for and has said she is applying for the other job that has already been offered to me but I can't tell her until it is announced.. I want to celebrate but I can't and I don't know what to say to her.. it has been a bitter sweet day for me today..

Congratulations for your new job, Siobhan. I sympathise with your predicament regarding your friend applying for it and not being able to tell her. That is a really awkward position to be in. I hope it works out ok. Sorry for not having any useful advice.

I feel for you Siobhan, but obviously, you can't let on until the official announcement. If she is a true friend, she will accept that they thought you were the better person for the job. If she is nasty to you because of you getting the job she wanted, give her some time to adjust to the news, she will feel very hurt and rejected and might let you feel the brunt of it. But if she can't be your friend anymore, then she was not a good friend. I hope you two can work it out.
