If you still get free prescriptions or have a HC2 certificate, you can get nit lotion free on prescription. Yes it means that you may be a bit embarrassed when you go see the nurse and say you've got nits but it will save you a fiver.
Thanks. I don't get free prescriptions anymore I don't think. I don't mind spending a bit, if I get my moneys worth, I hate going to see the Doc at the best of times so I'll wait and see if the shelf bought stuff works.

Fill in a HC1 form. You can get them from the doctors, dentist or online. If you earn below a certain amount (which you probably will being a student) you qualify for free prescriptions, free dental care, free wigs and supports and reimbursement for travel expenses to appointments.
    Thanks CrazyLea

Ah I think I know why I can't get free prescriptions - technically I own property. The upper floor of our house is a flat which we rent out. To avoid inheritance tax (or something similar), my parents put the flat in me and my sister's name.

But I still get the pill free so who knows. Maybe I'll ask the next time I go lol, I need to get a longer prescription than 3 months anyway.

I've just had an eyeopener to what I'm going to have to be aware of in the next 3/4 years!!! The downside to having a little sister... haha

Headrin or Full marks is good. The Headrin you leave on overnight or you can buy the gel that you can wash of after 15 minutes like full-marks. I prefer to leave it on over night but there are other treatments you can buy they're all around the same price about a tenner each. The thing with headlice is the lotion only kills live lice not the eggs and after applying the lothion and treating the head, the eggs can hatch and re-infect that's why you have to reapply the lotion a week after treating it. If you have lice Stars it will take about 6 weeks to get rid of the eggs and conditioner and vinegar are the best to remove them as they stick on to the hair. I check Marley's head every Sunday. I apply conditioner to her dry hair then comb it through. Then I get a bowl of warm water and vinegar and a nit comb go through her head. It takes about an hour to do but Marley hasn't had lice for almost three years and my mum used to check out hair every week.

Thanks to Vicky for my great new banner xxx
