Worldwide 5000 people have died.

40,000 American's (not worldwide) die from regular flu each year so I don't know how this is different

Neither do I. This whole pandemic thing is over hyped. No organisation would say seasonal flu is pandemic, it's just a fact of life that we have flu in winter.

Swine flu is just a mutation of seasonal flu.
