DELIGHTED Denise Van Outen’s dream has come true — after stage star boyfriend Lee Mead popped the question.

Lee, 27, asked her to marry him before whisking her away on a Caribbean holiday last week.

The lovebirds had met when she was a judge on BBC1’s Any Dream Will Do talent show which Lee won — landing the lead role in musical Joseph And The Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat.

Last night a pal of the couple said: “Denise and Lee are so happy.

They are both traditional people and it was a traditional proposal as Lee went down on one knee and then took Denise to St Lucia.

“Of course Denise said ‘yes’ straight away! Lee bought a ring that Denise says is beautiful.”

Friends say the couple aim to tie the knot later this year.

They have just moved into a pile in Kent and plan to spend more time together as Lee finished his Joseph stint this month.

The pair began dating weeks after Lee won in June 2007. TV presenter and performer Denise, 34, fancied Lee as soon as she saw him, saying: “He’s gorgeous.”

The pair did not get together until he had split with girlfriend, dancer Kerry Stammers.

Denise, of Basildon, Essex, was engaged to singer Jay Kay. They met in 1998 but split in 2001. She also dated club owner Richard Traviss for three years until 2004.

The former boyfriend of Olivia Newton-John who was thought to have drowned at sea faked his own death, it has been claimed.
According to US investigators, Patrick McDermott is currently travelling along the coast of South America to avoid paying his debts and to allow his son to collect his life insurance policy.
McDermott was dating the Grease actress around the time of his disappearance on a fishing boat called The Freedom in June 2005, the Daily Mail reports.
Lead investigator Philip Klein told NBC show Dateline that his agency was close to finding Newton-John's former partner.
"He's alive - there's no doubt in my mind, this guy's alive," he said.

Tributes are being paid to comic writer Sharat Sardana, who has died at the age of 40.
Sardana collapsed at his father's home suffering from a streptococcal virus, reports the Evening Standard. He died at Whipps Cross University Hospital in East London on Tuesday.
The writer was behind television hits such as Goodness Gracious Me and The Kumars At Number 42.
Actors Meera Syal and Sanjeev Bhaskar described Sardana as being like a "brother". In a statement, they said that they are "stunned and completely broken hearted" about his death.
The statement read: "He was not just a gifted writer and a long-standing colleague and friend. We were part of each other's extended families and losing him feels like losing a brother."
Executive producer of BBC Comedy Jon Plowman called Sardana's death a "truly shocking loss". "It's a very sad day for comedy to lose a writer who managed to help comedy break through in the way that Goodness Gracious Me did," he said.

Geri Halliwell has announced her engagement to Italian yacht tycoon Fabrizio Politi.

The 36-year-old Spice Girl - who split from London nightclub owner Nick House in December - only met Fabrizio in a nightclub in Florence last month.

Geri's management firm 19 confirmed in a statement: "We are delighted to announce the engagement of Geri Halliwell and Fabrizio Politi.

"As a token of their commitment to each other Fabrizio presented Geri with an engagement ring over the festive season.

"There are no immediate plans for marriage as the couple are enjoying their engagement."

The Daily Mirror reports Fabrizio, 34, dazzled Geri with a £220,000 diamond engagement ring and she is "ecstatic", calling him "The one".

She is said to have told a friend: "I am over the moon. We are so happy. He constantly makes me smile. I could not be happier."

A source told the paper Geri is delighted at how Fabrizio has bonded with her two-year-old daughter, adding: "Geri is desperate for another brother or sister for her daughter, and to have a man in her life who can be a father to them. It feels right and they are both very happy."

Geri reportedly introduced Fabrizio to her close friend George Michael and told him of their engagement over dinner at Notting Hill's E&O restaurant on Saturday night.

Christine Bleakley's ex-boyfriend has claimed that there was a "third person" involved in their recent break-up.

Mark Beirne reportedly cited Bleakley's One Show co-host Adrian Chiles as the reason behind their split.

A friend of Beirne told the News Of The World: "The reports that Mark dumped her are nonsense. She dumped him and he's gutted.

"He knew the relationship was going through a rough patch - but as far as he was concerned she was the one. They'd even talked about marriage. But there's a third person involved and that’s Adrian. They’re keeping it quiet for now but it’ll all come out in time."

Bleakley's friends blasted the rumours as nonsense, with one stating: "Adrian and Christine are good friends but there is nothing more to it than that. They see each other occasionally out of work but that doesn’t mean there was any romance. Adrian definitely had nothing to do with the break-up."

The couple's Belfast home has now been put on the market.

Demi Moore and Ashton Kutcher have started an unfortunate war of words with their neighbour over the internet. The couple complained about screenwriter Bruce Goldsmith's construction work waking them up at 7am every morning. "The neighbour doing construction with 6 guys pounding hammers against steel at 7am is no way to wake up!" wrote Demi on her Twitter page. While husband Ashton added: "I'm gonna kill my neighbour!" Goldsmith fired back, saying that Kutcher "just doesn't want to deal with reality. He's out of line." Now the Ghost actress says she didn't realise how controversial her words were going to be. "We're big fans of Twitter. We're addicted. It was in good humour, wasn't meant in any way to be mean-spirited," she said, trying to pacify the situation. "By the time it was done, we were laughing. We both went to our respective appointments and by the time we each got to where we were going, we couldn't believe what had happened." Ashton has now apologised to Goldsmith for taking his grievances out on the web by posting a video - err - online.

Amy Winehouse has reportedly handed over control of her £14.5m fortune to her parents. The singer has spent recklessly in the past and is thought to have made her mum and dad, Mitch and Janis, "articles of association", giving them voting rights which could restrict her actions. The decision means that Amy will not be able to make any major business decision concerning her company, Cherry Westfield, without their consultation. "Everyone is pleased because it means Amy is listening to good advice. It's still her money and nobody else can touch it. But this stops her doing anything stupid. And it is evidence that Amy is really turning her life around," a source said. "Her dad was also worried she might be tempted to go back to Blake (Fielder-Civil) - and put him in charge. That is now impossible. This would never have happened before, certainly not when she was with Blake. It's her money and nobody else can touch it. But she can't do anything stupid."

Mel B and Eddie Murphy have reportedly settled their legal dispute regarding their one-year-old child.

The pair had entered into a war of words after Murphy denied that her daughter Angel Iris was his on Dutch television.

Murphy later took a DNA test which confirmed that he was the father.

According to RadarOnline, the actor and former Spice Girl have now settled their legal dispute, with Murphy being granted visitation but not custody rights to the child.

Mel B recently confirmed that she would be interested in becoming a judge on the X Factor.
