Oh righty, didn't know that. There used to be quite a bit of overlap between foundation and intermediate and intermediate and higher.
    Thanks CrazyLea

I am quite pleased with my results, though I was shocked by some of my results...some bits of my course I did well in, but I did a bit badly in other aspects so it brought my grade down

    I got:

Media: B (AB in my exams - two marks off an A for my second exam!.. and a C in my coursework)

English: B (AAC in my exams) completely shell shocked! Thought I did alright, but not that well!

ICT: D (DE in my exams and C for coursework)..bit gutted about this result, but I will drop it I think.

Drama: C (A in my performance but CD in my theory exams..I thought I did better in my theory exams but ahh well)..

So the plan is.. I am going to drop ICT probably and resit the C I got in English to try and boost it to an A.

I didn't do brilliant but it's nothing that I can't sort out and boost in resits

    R.E- C (DBD in modules)
    English Language- D (ECC)
English Literature- D (DDD)... but I did do better in my resit by 13 marks which I was pleased about
Biology- U (guess which subject I'm dropping) (UUE)

I was expecting to ail them all... so I'm pleased with my grades. I would have liked to carry on with Biology but I did badly in all 3 modules and I don't want to be resitting a whole subject when I can boost my marks by resitting 1 or 2 modules of the englsih subjects. I'm happy with RE so I think I will leave it as it is because even though I want to do well in my AS I can't forget that next year is A Levels so I don't want to forget about them and focus all my work on AS if you get what I mean? Haha. Oh well I'm pleased

Biology has to be one of the hardest A level subjects around. Two of my friends are really clever and were predicted As in all of their subjects and came out with an E and a U Shame I failed my biology A level, I thought I hadn't done too bad on the A2 exams. Oh well, all over with now
i agree with you there, i took biology alevel and got an E, nearly everyone in my year who took biology got Es and Ds and some of them were really clever. it must be one of the hardest, i found it so much more difficult than any of my other subjects

It's sooo difficult... which is why I'm dropping it, but I'm worried now that my A Level subjects won't be varied so I don't think it will benefit me

Aww well done everyone on results and getting into your Uni's, you should all be so proud of yourselves

As for GCSE's, yeah my year was the last to do Intermediate (which is what I did) and I got a C. But when I asked to take it at AS I wasn't allowed but it may be different at your school so give it a try You never know if you don't ask

I didn't think variation mattered so much at A2.. when we were choosing our subjects they said that a contrasting subject at AS can be an advantage.

Variation isn't usually a problem. Do you know what course/subject area you want to study? Some undergrad degrees require an A level in a specific subject. Other than that you'll be fine with your current subjects.

You'll need an A level in a core national curriculum subject such as english, maths, a science, geography or history.

You have to pick a subject to specialise in, which will probably be one of your A Levels, or Gifted & Talented or Special Needs. Some unis make you pick that to start with when you apply, and some make you pick once you've started. The entry requirements are pretty low, it mainly is work experience that counts. I know someone who got BCDe, and is now a teacher at a very good primary school. And she got her job before she even graduated!

EDIT: She specialised in ICT, by the way.
