Yes, the minimum age is 16. Strange you can't vote for the leader of your country until you are 18 and I think you now need to be 18 to buy alcohol (or is it still in the planning stages?) but you can gamble at 16.

Must get confused with the rules in Germany on buying booze, you can buy beer and wine at 16 but spirits only at 18. I think it might be smoking where the legal age is to be raised to 18.

In the uk you can legally drink at 18 but you have to be 21 to buy it
