I hate Edexcel. I was thinking to myself after I'd finished my exam this afternoon that Edxecel have to be one of the worst exam boards.

If it wasn't on the syllabus and every school/college doing the Edexcel exam complained then I guess the examiners will have to disregard part A and just mark the rest of the paper. The grade boundaries would be altered so your grades shouldn't suffer because of the exam board's incompetence.
Sorry to double post - just seen this one!

We've just switched from AQA to Edexcel for History. I found the questions to be exactly the same tbh. The only difference is now we have to do coursework which is kinda blaggy!

That's slightly out of order! Does your school/college have to choose one/two topics from the paper or is it just one topic per paper?
We are currently doing USA The new deal and the depression and Nazi Germany.

In the paper I did there are 8 questions (You have to answer just 2), on two different topics Germany and Russia. We did a sources paper on Germany so had to answer Russia questions. I chose the second Russia question. There's a part A and B and because I knew B I'd revised it the night before I thought I'd go for that one even though I had no idea what A was about! I just thought it was because I hadn't revised it enough I didn't know we'd never covered it.

I do European history so last year we did Germany - seeds of evil (hitlers rise to power. and something before that...) and also Russia - bolshevik WW1 around that time. Now we are doing Russia 1860ish to 1960ish..and Germany after Hitler took power and the coursework is British appeasement (what Britain did to other nations between wars).

The party was good. I'm a little drunk. I hope I don't get a hangover. I hope that answer isn't too confusing Kirsty, I rambled a bit. x

I did edexcel History and Maths for GCSE. I thought the final exam papers were quite nice, but one of the pieces of History coursework my class found a bit evil on the whole. It must be more evil for A Level I'm thinking since Stars and Abigail do A Level subjects with them, and also because my school do edexcel GCSE History and AQA A Level History. Just checked the subjects I'm doing for A Level in the prospectus and none of them are edexcel - hardly any of the subjects are; only Maths, Further Maths and ICT.

My Aunt and Uncle are coming down later Also got to try and get hold of Dad's cousin again; I rang her mobile and house phone on Wednesday and got the answerphone both times and again yesterday.

Our school don't do many Edexcel courses. The only reason why biology is with Edexcel is because we're a joint sixth form with another school four miles away. Our school did AQA and the other one did Edexcel until they merged and we got lumbered with Edexcel.

Just been tidying all my revision and A level work up. Thrown lots of past papers and revision posters in the recycle bin and put my notes and textbooks in the cupboard. I've just got two synoptic papers, a business and a general studies left so I don't really need anything except the notes that are on my desk.

I think I'm going to have a shift around in my room and make a bit more room.
    Thanks CrazyLea

i hate to say this stars but unfortunately they will still mark the paper the same. this happened to us with our politics alevel (which was edexcel as well!), basically we did 6 mini topics for one of the units and then 4 topics are meant to come up on the exam paper and you have to chose 2, well 3 of them were the same topic just different questions on it. it was ok for me cos that was the only topic i knew so i did really well! my teacher complained to the exam board but she said that it wont make a difference to the marks we get, the only thing it will do is make them check this better for next year. sorry to have to say this but the only thing you can hope for is that everyone didnt know what to write and so everyone gets rubbish marks so the boundaries will go down. however if it was a case of you chose the questions (which it sounded like from your post though i could be wrong) then the people who did another question could have done really well and so your answer for the first part will be counted even though it wasnt in the syllabus. its stupid but unfortunately theres nothing the schools can do about it except inform them of the mistake, sorry

Heh, it's mine too abbie

All my subjects are edexcel and I've had a few problems: the exams in jan weren't marked properly, and then last year ICT coursework was modded a bit randomly! I prefer edexcel for languages though, because there's no coursework!

My day. Not so great, revision and my grandad just keeps getting worse and worse. He's come home but hopefully being moved to a hostel on monday.
