    Acrylic Nails

Just wondering really if anyone else has them done regularly? I'm getting mine done again tonight, only the 2nd time i've ever had then done though. Last time I had them done, they were done by a trainee and were quite lumpy, and not that good tbh. But then again they only cost a tenner as she was only training!

They'll cost me £20 tonight so hopefully they'll be better!
Am I able to post pics or not?

Also have they ever left your nails in a state? Apparently they don't make your nails weak or w.e, it's not the acrylic/gel that's damages the nail, it's a bad nail technitian.

Do you prefer acrylic or gel?

I got them last year for my prom, they were nice, but i had a lump in my nail when they came off (where they were glued) and it took a while for it to go. And my nails were a bit horrible when they came off. But i would get them again for like a special occasion, but not for everyday wear

Peter: So how many are there? Is it bad? Olivia: Did you eat? Peter: Yeah. Olivia: Well, that's unfortunate.

I had acrylic nails about 3 years ago, had quite a few problems with losing a nail here and there all the time but continued for 6 months. By then I have had enough and my natural nails too, they were extremely weak and it took me ages to grow them again, taking vitamins etc and applying nail hardener and all this. I suppose I never had strong nails to start with and artificial nails just aren't for me. I suggest that you check your natural nails whenever you get the opportunity, technology advances quickly these days and wearing falsies might not be so damaging to some nails anymore as it was 3 years ago.

If I had false nails I'd probably knock them off within a day

I agree. My sister is a qualified beauty therapist. I've had acrylics on twice, the first time they lasted a week and the second I had on for a while.

My nails were in an awful state when I had them taken off. The top of the nail had peeled away and they were really thin and broke off.

I would have them again but only for a special occasion. I couldn't wash my hair properly or get dressed without the nails getting in the way. It is nice to have nails that look good though, mine are always breaking off and looking scraggy.
    Thanks CrazyLea

I've had mine done a few times now with no problems at all.
My sister has her's done too, as she wasn't happy that she couldn't grow them, so she had them done for a few months until hers underneath were long enough and now she just has the acrlic strengthner on them to make them stronger but they all her own nails now.
I'm thinking about getting mine done on Saturday as i'm off work so can have long nails for a couple of weeks.

I got these before and made a mistake of eating chips with garlic sauce...the sauce got under the nails and stank.. I had to rip them all off.. but they lasted a good while (about 10 days) before I removed them.. I would get them done again but only for a special occasion
