David Platt's girlfriend Tina McIntyre has been such a success on the Street that Michelle Keegan, who plays her, has been given a permanent contract.
In June she'll be joined by Reece Dinsdale, who will play her father Joe McIntyre. Yorkshire-born Dinsdale has been a television regular since he made his debut in 1982 in Agatha Christie's Partners In Crime. He's probably best-remembered for the sitcom Home To Roost, which ran from 1985-1990, in which he played John Thaw's teenage son Matthew. Big-screen roles have included A Private Function and Hamlet.
