This was the first time I saw her.
I whisper something in Dawn's ear. She obviously doesn't like what she hears because she turns around and slaps me. I hear someone giggle. I look over to see a girl about my age, with long wavy blonde hair wearing board shorts, flipflops and a faded grey t-shirt. She's sitting on Arthur's bench with a sketch book on her lap and some pastels at her side.
"What did you say to her?" She asks, blending two colours together with her finger.
I walk over and whisper in the girl's ear. I pull away and watch her reaction. She pulls a face as if she's disgusted.
"And yet you looked so shocked when she slapped you." She says, and continues to smudge colours together. "I'm Tallulah by the way. My family have just moved from Cornwall."
"I'm Deano." I say with a smile.

I never thought I'd meet someone like her.
I go into the pub. I spot her alone at a table and walk over.
"Hello again." I say.
She gives me a little wave and a huge grin spreads across her face. I see her sketch book on the table. She's finished her picture. It's of the seaside. There's a gorgeous sandy beach and the sea is so blue it's unreal.
"That's amazing." I say, in awe.
"It's not my best." She says, annoyed.
I can't think of anything to say to that so I change the subject.
"So where in Cornwall did you say you were from?"
"I didn't."
"Fine then.. Where in Cornwall are you from?"
"St. Ives."
I smile.
"Do you want a drink?"
"Go on then. I'll have a barcardi and coke please."
"Ok." I say and then go to the bar to order the drinks.
