Contrary to a Facebook group with over 30,000 members that reported the death of Neil, he is very much alive and well, as reported by an ITV representative.
This is the group description on Facebook:
'On the 21st March 2008 at the age of just 46, Neil Buchanan sadly passed away after a long struggle against cancer of the colon. Neil will be sadly missed by his family and friends, as well as by his millions of fans who were inspired by his work as a TV presenter. Please treat this group with respect and leave messages and memories for Neil. Thank you.'

I'm disgusted that a group on facebook can get away with this. Awful joke and very angry about it![]()
Peter: So how many are there? Is it bad? Olivia: Did you eat? Peter: Yeah. Olivia: Well, that's unfortunate.
That is a very sick joke. I agree with you about it being disgusting that they can get away with it.
Is this bit a lie.. "It has been recently suggested that Neil is still with us, contrary to announcements on several radio broadcasts and on blue peter (bbc!)." - or have I read it wrong, and that bit is saying that those places said he was still alive?
I wonder why the founder of the group even set it up :s. Weirdo.
On a separate note - how awesome is Neil. Me and my mates are always talking about him
. We even named my mates locker Neil Buchanan! haha.

Something should be done about the false statement about his death on facebook, this is really sick.
I reported the group a couple of weeks backand nothing seems to have been done - its "nice" to know Facebook are doing things about groups like this![]()

A celebrity edition of The Weakest Link was subject to 16 complaints after presenter Anne Robinson asked a contestant to feel her breasts.
TV wine expert Olly Smith, who hosts The Richard And Judy Wine Club, told the studio audience: "If Anne was a wine, she'd be a smooth, full-bodied, expensive red."
Smith's comments didn't amuse the 63-year-old host, who replied: "I don't like being called full-bodied. I've spent a long time getting this figure"
Robinson then asked Smith to come and feel her breasts, which he described as "absolutely fantastic".
The programme, a charity edition featuring contestants from the world of food and wine, was broadcast at 5.20pm last Saturday and watched by more than 5 million viewers.

Can't understand why anybody would want a grope of her.

TV presenter Trisha Goddard has revealed that she is fighting breast cancer.
The disease was diagnosed after doctors found a lump during a routine mammogram three weeks ago. A tumour was subsequently removed and lymph node samples were taken for analysis.
She was told on Saturday that cancer had been detected in one of the nodes. She now faces a second operation to remove more samples and will be absent from her Five show for two weeks.
She is currently at home with third husband Peter Gianfancesco and children Billie, 18, and 13-year-old Madison in Norfolk.
Gianfancesco, who has been married to Goddard for ten years, said: "She may possibly need, or choose to have, chemotherapy. We are both exhausted from the stress and worry, but are trying to deal with this one step at a time."
He added: "We hoped that we could handle this in private, but following a number of inquiries from newspapers, we thought it best to put the record straight. We ask that everyone respects our privacy during this difficult time, allowing us to focus on supporting my wife's recovery."
Around 80 staff at her production company Townhouse were informed of the news this morning.
