    Cool Bill Spoilers 5th & 6th March

    5 March 2008
Out on the beat, PCs Roger Valentine (John Bowler) and Beth Green (Louisa Lytton) ******KIDDIECOP ALERT*******meet Lara Phillips (Bethany Turner), who has reported seeing a body being thrown into the river. After giving them a description and registration of the car seen, Beth ******KIDDIECOP ALERT*******and Roger visit Dr. Michael Drummond, the owner of the vehicle. Shortly after, the underwater search and rescue team arrive and drag a dead body from the river and the officers are suspicious when the St Jacobs Hospital ID on the body shows the dead man is Drummond.

Back in CID, DS Max Carter (Christopher Fox) uncovers an article in which reports Drummond was recently exonerated of any wrongdoing after answering allegations of professional negligence when one of his patients died of heart failure on the operating table.

DCs Jo Masters (Sally Rogers) and Stevie Moss (Lucy Speed) visit Drummond’s shocked colleagues, Harry Maitland (Simon Scardifield) and Clifford Peers (Douglas Reith) who reveal that the only person they can think had a grudge against Drummond was Jane Prophet (Karen Meagher), the wife of the man who died under his watch. Whilst sifting through CCTV footage Beth******KIDDIECOP ALERT******* recognises a man called Dave Batchelor (Richard Cotton) running away from Drummond’s car. As Roger and Beth ******KIDDIECOP ALERT******* make their way to Dave’s house, DC Grace Dasari (Amita Dhiri) and Max visit second suspect, Jane.

Elsewhere, Crime Scene Examiner Eddie Olosunde (Jason Barnett) discovers that Drummond had MS and was taking medication for the condition prescribed by his colleague, Peers. When questioned, he admits he couldn’t be sure that the patients’ death hadn’t been caused by Drummond’s condition and says that he did visit him the night before in order to get him to tell the General Medical Council about his MS but which resulted in a heated argument.

Through further investigation and on finding a connection between the doctors and Dave Batchelor, Beth ******KIDDIECOP ALERT******* and Roger hunt down him at his squat. With several suspects in the frame, Dave pulls an unexpected stunt – can the cops pull together and identify the murderer?

    Thursday 6 March
After nicking Anthony Howell (Chris Brazier), committing armed robbery with a sawn-off shot gun, DCI Jack Meadows (Simon Rouse) volunteers to go undercover to nail the dealer selling the bent gear. After interviewing Howell, Jack and DS Stuart Turner (Doug Rao) are eventually given the name of the shop where the stolen goods came from.

DC Mickey Webb (Chris Simmons) and PC Tony Stamp (Graham Cole) are tasked to find out more about shop owner, Phil Agombar (David Barnaby) who reluctantly admits to being forced to sell the goods out of his shop for a couple of men higher up the chain. Jack is particularly keen to arrest one of the men, Roy Summers (Michael N Harbour) who killed a colleague of his some years ago but walked away from court on a technicality.

Later, after a briefing from DI Sam Nixon (Lisa Maxwell) and a lesson in antiquities from DS Mayhew (Rufus Wright), Jack prepares to meet the dealers under the pretence of wanting to buy some antiques. Sam, Stuart and Mayhew watch from a safe distance as Jack meets Arran Palmer (Alex Palmer). Impressed and convinced that Jack is above board, Palmer escorts Jack to a warehouse to meet Sun Hill’s main target: Summers. But while following them in an unmarked car, the CID officers are frustrated when they lose Jack at the lights.

Nervous, all alone and without back up, Jack is thrown when Summers interrogates him at gun-point about the antiques in the room – can Jack pass the test?
