    Corrie Spoilers August 19 - 24

    Cilla starts her new job in the care home

    David acts cool towards Mel and they confirm that they'll go to the cinema together that afternoon. Amber is jealous when she sees them together and David boasts to her that it's a date. Sarah becomes very intrigued when Amber tells her about David's date and when she is in her back garden she bumps into Mel.

    Sarah spitefully begins to tell Mel about David's past relationships and how he has the tendency to become a stalker, leaving Mel mortified. David is stood up at the cinema and returns home humiliated and it becomes worse when Sarah reveals she was the cause of his lonely date, how will David react?

    Audrey drop by the Webster's before they go on holiday. They all express their concern over Ashley and how Casey seems to be getting her claws in. Before he leaves Kevin pleas with Ashley not to give up on his marriage but how will he react to his intervention?

    Cilla has her first day work at the care home and starts talking down to one of the OAPs when he cheekily has banter with her. Her supervisor catches her and warns her to be nice and that Frank is a valued customer. Cilla realises who Frank is and that he and his family are a well known rich family, she begins to flirt with him much to his pleasure.

    Jack gets Paul to buy Vera a present and shows him where he keeps his secret cash in the wall.


    Gail forces David to apologise

    David’s still smarting after Sarah wrecked his chances with Mel and when she reasserts that she doesn't want anything more than friendship, David's stung.

    So, when Amber questions him about being stood up, he lies that far from it he actually slept with Mel and then dumped her! When the rumour gets back to the Mortons, Jerry is furious and confronts Gail about her mendacious son. As livid Gail drags David across the street to apologise to Mel gleeful Sarah watches on. But will this humiliation be enough to put a stop to David's trouble making?

    Leanne’s worrying about the restaurant's financial state and confides in Paul how desperately she needs an injection of cash. As Paul assures her that she'll find an investor soon, he’s left with some food for thought …

    Meanwhile, Liam's not happy when a client insists on going to the Italian for a business meeting over a meal. After witnessing his edgy mood, Carla confronts him about his feelings for Leanne and his over the top rebuttal confirms that Liam is far from over Leanne!

    Elsewhere Michelle suggests to Steve that they take the kids to visit her family in Ireland. And Ivor and George are left guessing about Norris' mystery woman!

    David reveals he wants his family dead

    All eyes are on David as he’s marched to the kebab shop and forced to apologise to Mel. David’s humiliated and when he overhears Gail and Sarah laughing about the fact that he's never had a girlfriend he's seething.

    Later, Jason sees David on the roof of Underworld and follows him up, worried he may be contemplating suicide. David’s amused by Jason's concern and claims he has merely gone up there to think.

    However, Jason's worries are not eased when David pretends to hold a rifle and fire pot shots at his family before revealing that he'd like to see them all dead, and it's not hard to get a gun. Is David serious about his revenge?

    In the Italian, Paul feels snubbed when Leanne ridicules his suggestion that he could be her investor. Paul reasons he can get a loan and Leanne's not hopeful, but agrees that if he can raise the money he's in. Will Paul prove her wrong and how is he planning to raise the money?

    Meanwhile, Liam’s client is a no show, and he invites Leanne to share a bottle of wine with him. Despite everything there's still chemistry between them, will they rekindle their old spark?

    Elsewhere, Cilla flirts with Frank, a rich resident at the care home who's taken a liking to her. When Frank offers her a full time job as his private carer, Cilla's intrigued, she’s after his money but he’s after her body! Will Cilla accept his indecent proposal?

    Elsewhere Jerry’s hopeful when Eileen agrees to go on a date with him.


    Jack and Vera celebrate their golden wedding

    Molly's busy ensuring everything's in place for Jack and Vera's golden wedding anniversary party at the Rovers. It’s a great success with Paul supplying the food and bubbly and Jack serenading Vera after surprising everyone with a soppy speech!

    However, amidst all the revelry Paul slips out and is rifling through Jack’s stash tin when the happy (slightly tipsy) couple arrive home. Oblivious Jack and Vera thank him profusely for making their anniversary so special. What is Paul up to? And how will his doting grandparents feel if he betrays them?

    Meanwhile at the Platts, Gail is furious with David for not collecting the result of his one GCSE. Jason's worried about what David is capable of and implores Gail to calm down. He's still not sure how serious David was about wanting to kill his mum and doesn’t want to take any chances. However, everyone's gob- smacked when David reveals that he did collect his result and he got an A*!

    At the Italian, Jerry arrives flustered and late for his date with Eileen. Jerry’s on edge but as they relax after dinner he’s delighted when Eileen reveals that she’s looking for someone to have a fun, uncomplicated time with, Jerry agrees that he's always up for a laugh. Is this the start of something between Jerry and Eileen?

    Paul takes the deeds to Jack and Vera's house
    Airs on Friday, August 24 2007 at 19:30 BST on ITV1


    As Paul resumes his hunt through Jack’s tin he slyly pockets the deeds to the house and a few bills. Later, Leanne's confused when Paul is showing the bank’s business manger round the restaurant and insists he calls him Jack. Paul and the bank manager shake on the deal, but Leanne's concerned when she discovers that he's 'borrowed' Jack's identity to raise the money against his house.

    However, desperate for investment and with little choice but to trust him, Leanne declares Paul as a partner. Later that evening, Paul tells unsuspecting Jack and Vera his good news and they're delighted that he's going to be sticking around. But how will they feel if they discover that their precious grandson has betrayed them?

    Meanwhile, Eileen's still on a high after her successful date with Jerry and ranks even higher in his estimations when she spots Mel being hassled by two lads at the takeaway and steps in to throw them out. Jerry's extremely grateful for Eileen's help and as he walks her home, she accepts his invitation for a romantic meal at his house the following night and is pleased when he moves in for a kiss…

    Elsewhere, Casey tells an uncomfortable Ashley that she’s moving away for good. He’s shocked by the realisation that he’ll miss her, but to her dismay he doesn't take the bait and implore her to stay. However, Ashley clearly still has feelings for Casey, will he act upon them?

    Liz and Vernon are delighted to have the pub to themselves when Steve and Michelle head off to Ireland on a family holiday. And Jason continues to worry about what David said to him.

    So, when Jerry wants some privacy with Eileen, he wines and dines her in Darryl's shed - and what lady wouldn't be impressed by that?
    Audrey persuades Claire to return to Weatherfield, but she could get an eyeful of something unexpected after Casey spends the night with Ashley. His wife's arrival forces the butcher to make a momentous decision, but getting rid of his mistress proves tricky.
    Instead of fading away quietly, she claims she loves Ashley, and begins making life incredibly uncomfortable for him and his wife.
    Norris's increasingly odd behaviour worries Rita, Doreen and Emily, while Cilla continues to work her 'magic' on Frank.
    Roy accompanies Hayley to her aunt's funeral where a gift from her uncle reveals something shocking about her past.
