Channel 4 is to air a reality show made on a rubbish tip.
Producers have asked ten people to live for a month at the Beddington Lane tip in Croydon, London, where they must use the junk for clothing and shelter.
They say the as yet untitled show will focus attention on the amount of waste produced by today's lifestyle.
The show will see participants cook dinner in a kitchen constructed from wheelie bins and an old wood burner, live in plastic sheeting and eat off an old door.
For food they will be given supermarket produce that has outlived its shelf life.
Outline Productions is making the show to be aired in the autumn. Producer Andrew Mackenzie commented: "Some of the tasks are pretty gross."
