Goody two-shoes Joanne shocks her factory colleagues when they find out she could be an illegal immigrant.
Janice, oblivious to Joanne's situation, called immigration officials after becoming suspicious of the Polish factory workers and accidentally got her friend into trouble.
But how did the pretty young girl who never puts a foot wrong come to break the law?
Zaraah Abraham, who plays Joanne, told ITV Soaps, “Basically, she was in Liberia, where she is from, and it was the middle of a civil war.
“She was supposed to move to Leeds with her Auntie, but before she had a chance to move her Mum and Dad were killed, so she was sort of on her own.
“Her Auntie came for her, but didn't really sort out the legal issues. Joanne was only eight at the time so didn't really know what was going on. She knows where she's come from and that her Mum and Dad have died, but she doesn't really know that she's broken the law.”
When Joanne is questioned by the police, she lies and insists she never bothered getting a passport because she doesn't like flying.
But what goes through her mind as she faces possible deportation?
Zaraah explained, “She goes into panic mode I think. She doesn't want to go back to the place where all she's got is bad memories. She's got no friends there, no family, no job, no one who might speak English. She'd just be going back to a world that she'd never really lived in.”

. Hopefully it will get rid of her off Corrie. I don't like her personally. Find her rather pointless.. along with Kelly. And oh right is that what happened to her sister. I thought that was a bit odd lol.
